ag-pennypackerParticipantI can’t believe that Detroit wants something beyound expiring contracts to trade Josh Smith. Dumars has to go, he looks like the worst GM in the last 10 years.

FastAndFuriousParticipantLol it still suprises everybody that Joe Dumars is still the GM.
He’s still riding off that what I now consider a lucky gamble that brought the Pistons a championship back in 04.
He still making the crazy decisions but its obvious he has no idea what he’s doing,Pistons actually have a decent team on paper and could be a good team very very soon but Dumars needs to be let go ASAP!

Moon RiverParticipantThe Bucks want to unload some more bad contracts, or bad contracts in the making (Villanueva/Jennings).

ChoppyParticipantOk, I’m finally on the fire Dumars bandwagon. I’ve resisted for so long now but to do nothing at the deadline while the titanic that is the pistons sinks is all on Joe. Get ready for a 10-12 lottery pick Charlotte…

220ParticipantI still remember the moment it became obvious Joe Dumars was basically clueless…when he spent the majority of the Pistons cap space on Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva essentially locking the Pistons into mediocrity for years. Dumars hasn’t done much right since that moment although he did quite well on two draft picks Greg Monroe and Andre Drummond. Dumars has to be running out of rope at this point after bringing in Josh Smith and Brandon Jennings in the past offseason.

TyroberParticipantI will say that Dumors is pretty good at drafting, but not much else. He should have been fired already, but I do not think you’ll have to wait too long.

fundamentalsforfunParticipantExpiring contracts are exactly what this team should want. If they can get anything with that, like a second round pick, it should be seen as a win. GM’s need to realise there is no shame in admitting you got something wrong, they just need to move on from it quickly. Smith was a horrible signing and should not be seen in anyway as part of this teams future. Im honestly surprised teams where willing to trade for Smith with that awful contract. Having cap space next year to sign some solid shooting wings would be great for this teams future, as well as Monroe and Drummond’s development as post players.

The QParticipantTo be fair, the Jennings move doesn’t look that bad IMO. A PER over 17.
But yeah, he should’ve moved Josh Smith basically for free just to clear cap room.
I maintain Ben Gordon’s best fit has always been a triangle offense type team. One where he woudln’t have to be the primary ball handler. That or a team that had a PG like MCW who was big enough to guard 2s.
Ben just never got it together to be a FT PG.
