I am taking the Heat in 6. Spurs are great but LeBron is a beast. They also have home court, they should get at least a few really good games out of D Wade, and their bench is solid.
I also like Birdman's size, length, and energy. Can board, block shots, and dunk. Can also play Tim Duncan and defend the pick and roll.
Oh, and Shane Battier is healthy. He can spread the floor and defend Leonard and Matt Bonner.
Ray Allen will also get some looks.
what if birdman didn't know how to dunk?
If Birdman didn't know how to dunk he would be playing in a prison league somewhere.
I got them in 5. I hate to disrespect the spurs but its just my prediction.
Hmm let's hope these first few minutes are telling of what's to come or I couldnt be more wrong
I recently posted predicting a Pacers win in Game 7 in the ECF and the ultimate demise of the Big 3 in Miami. I also stated it was possible for LeBron to have another epic game and they could win but still had to face the veteran Spurs team, and I would not be betting on the Heat. Then, thus being the breakup of the Big 3. I was wrong about game 7, it was Wade and Bosh who came through, and already think I am wrong about the Spurs knocking them off. In order for the Spurs to win Duncan has to be great, and I don't think he can. Close, but they need 20+ from him a night. In the end the best player on the planet will win out. Should be a good series nonetheless. Still rooting for Duncan and Co. to win one more. LeBron has plenty of time to win several more.
how yall watched a team with the second longest winning streak in NBA HISTORY coming INTO the playoffs who also has the greatest player in the game today and continue to bet against them. how is a team that strung together 27 games in a row gonna loose enough times to lose a 4 out of 7 series? It's just not very likely. The Pacers had the best chance of offing them because it was a BAD MATCHUP for them. I don't think the spurs want any part of the heat, what they need is duncan from 2003 to show up.
Looks like the Spurs want the Heat. Have you seen the way San Antonio has played these playoffs? Absolutely no way they will ever be scared to play a team just because they stringed together a streak during the regular season. I've learned to never count out the Spurs, I'm just surprised everyone else hasn't learned that yet.
There's regular season teams(Heat), and then there's playoff teams(Spurs). In fact all the Spurs do in the regular season is coast so they can be energized and hopefully injury free come playoff time every single year.
This is why the Spurs typically "fly under the radar" because even though they usually have a good record they don't do anything spectacular to give them much hype or media attention.
I don't get how Miami is a regular season team. They've made it to the finals three straight years. They are definitely a playoff team.
You're right, but I meant more so how the Spurs only goal is staying fresh for the playoffs. Popp specifically fluctuates minutes to keep his guys fresh and attempt to avoid as many injuries as possible. Spurs don't go 100% during most of the regular season. Heat on the other hand don't cut minutes for the sake of staying fresh, they go hard pretty much every game in the regular season.
Duncan had a excellent first half 12-9 10 in the second quarter....but they're still down...
in 5. heat are just too talented for anyone to handle.
Heat are probably gonna have to win 2 out of 3 in SA for that to happen. Gonna be tough.
I'm really glad I'm not one of those people that claimed the Heat are "just too talented" for the Spurs. I've had Spurs in 6 ever since Miami advanced, and I still stand by that.
I forgot to post it some hours ago. I kinda felt that the Spurs would take this game. I'm calling the Spurs in 6.
If Birdman is the key to the Heat's success, then I think Tim Duncan schooling him and seeking out post ups when Anderson was on him isn't a good sign going forward.
Agreed. No one in this series can guard Tim Duncan one on one. Them crashing and doubling Hibbert worked for them because he's not a good passer out of double teams, but Duncan is one of the best passing big men in the game, and they have excellent outside shooters and slashers.
