How is Kobe better than Wade?
Better scorer? PER 36 minutes: wade, two less points on three less shots with a 50fg% advantage to 43fg%. -
Better defender, Wade
Better passer, Wade
Better rebounder, Wade
Better athlete, Wade
*kobe plays 5 more minutes has a higher usage%
im not basing this on stats, im just using stats to further prove my point.
wade > kobe
You are basing this entirely on stats what are you talking about?...
The difference in the level these two are able to play at is not nearly as far apart as you are suggesting, I would almost put them at dead even. Kobe had to force a ridiculous amount of shots last year because of lack of support whereas Wade wasn't even the go-to option on his own team. A one on one matchup between the two would be dang even, Wade attacking the rim, and Kobe being Kobe. They may play the same "position" but they play it in completely different ways. Very difficult to honestly tell which is "better" when you're looking at two great players.
what makes you say im basing this on stats? should've i just told you i feel wade is a better player, who's production on the court is greater than an older kobe?
when did i suggest they are far apart from each other?
how many heat games did you watch to say wade wasn't a go-to scorer?
Kobe took too many three-pointers last season, while D. Wade stayed attacking the rim. Kobe wasn't very efficient last season and took a lot of difficult shots.
However, I still just think he's better. D. Wade is younger and more athletic, but he's not as durable. D. Wade's body is a lot older than his age.
I think they're equal as rebounders and passers. Kobe slightly averages more rebounds. D. Wade averaged more assists in the past, mainly because he dominated the ball more. His style of play is very similar to LeBron's. Dominating the ball, isolations and clearouts.
I think Kobe is a more complete player offensively. He's still probably the most skilled player in the world.
It's honestly very close at this point. It's crazy though because Kobe is an old man and just won't go away.
DWade has a ton of moves but Kobe's moves take the cake. Not to mention, Wade's mid-range game has disappeared and he never developed a 3pt shot.
Kobe on the other hand is the best mid-range shooter today and arguably of all time.
While Wade is a better passer, rebounder, and defender -- Kobe's scoring is lightyears away from Wade's. I mean, the only thing Wade does better than Kobe scoring-wise is slash (and Kobe is 34). Their post-game is a push but I'd lean more towards Wade. Other than that, Kobe's scoring ability is way above Wade's.
kobe's offense is light years ahead of wade yet
wade's career stats per 36 minutes is 24ppg compare to kobe's 25ppg (or 26 if you take away his first three years to balance out age) on a 486fg% to 453fg% wade's advantage.
i wouldn't consider 2ppg with a 0.33fg% disadvantage "light years ahead", specially considering passing in an offensive skill and wade has a 1.4 assist advantage which equals more than 2 points.
if wade played 39 minutes per game like kobe, which he is capable of. with a 26 usage% he would've gotten better scoring numbers than kobe
I don't think Wade would be able to play multiple seasons above 39 minutes per game, especially maintaining his current playing style, without facing some serious injuries. Kobe's conditioning has always been top notch, but most importantly he avoids getting himself into too much physical contact, limiting the chances of him being injured. Wade while he is undoubtedly in great shape, plays the exact opposite, he seeks out contact when attacking the rim routinely, I can't help but think whenever I watch him that it's starting to take a toll. Kobe to me appears healthier at 4 years older.
Listen, Wade shoots a higher %, has a better assist average, better at steals, and blocks. Kobe got lucky playing 2nd fiddle to Shaq, while Wade took a declining Shaq to a title. There's no question that Wade is the far superior player. Kone just played in better teams, until Lebron came to town. Stats don't lie. Kobe is a selfish player that doesn't make his team members better.
Wtf are y'all talking about wade and Kobe can't even be in the same convo Kobe is way better, once wade teamed up with lebron that instantly made him incapable of being better then Kobe so did lebron like Idgaf if y'all don't like this but Kobe is that man, hand down man down, when wade or lebron scores 81 in a game has 5 rings and all the other stuff Kobe has then they can be put in the same convo, the only player that can even be compared to Kobe is Jordan and the only player that can be compared to Jordan is Kobe. Wade & Lebron are both great players but just to beat Kobe they have to be on the same team so that should tell you how's the best point blank. Stats don't matter, who has the best game Kobe. Like all this wade, & lebron talk need to hush they have done half of what Kobe's done, Kobe is still the man and he's older Kobe would of had more mvp's but he was robbed a couple of times so hand down its Kobe
Im not sure I agree with most of the Kobe riders on this thread. Wade has been extremely effective this year and of course he's his team's 2nd best player, but he is playing for a winner. Kobe is a step or two past his prime and sure he can drop 38 on a team headed for 35 wins but lets see IF his team gets into the playoffs. He has never really made others better and Wade has some great moves.
Here is the difference to me:
When Kobe wants to score, I have yet to see a player stop him. Wade had a couple of years where this was true for him but Kobe has been like this for about 12 years now..
Im pretty sure if the above was true he would average like 80 PPG and the Lakers would have won the last 12 titles
