Only 2 weeks ago it seemed like veteran center Eric Dampier was all signed, sealed and ready to play for the Rockets..Reports had The Rockets signing Dampier to a 1 year deal pending a roster move, trading or releasing guard Jermaine Taylor..But on sunday according to The Houston Chronicles that deal is off the table..Rockets GM Daryl Morey told guard Jermaine Taylor that they will not move him, becuz they have no plans to sign Dampier..Sources say both Dampier and the Rockets agreed that with the Rockets struggling..It would make the short term deal less appealing..

This might be a blessing for the Heat, who earlier said they had no intention of signing Dampier..But after seeing their big men struggle against guys like Okafor & Big Baby..The Heat should look into signing Dampier…

In that case Portland should sign him….. They are so thin right now in the frontcourt. He is MUCH better than Sean Marks or Dante Cunnigham.

You think NOH needs help? They might but just look at the Suns. Now I am not a big time fan of Damp, but when your only true center is Robin Lopez, you are going to need some help at that position. Frye has done ok off the bench but he is more of a PF.

Okafor is a powerforward, so is D. West, and Jason Smith* there 3 best bigs and the others are 3rd center on a team at best

Oklahoma should think about signing him, he’ll be a great addition in the short-term

Phoenix is supposed to be in the mix and I think that would probably be the most mutually beneficial situation for Damp. He would presumably get a good amount of playing time and would give his team something they lack – a true backup center.
