    http://www.nola.com/hornets/index.ssf/2010/07/julian_wright_is_wrong_to_not.html

“In three seasons, Wright has averaged four points and 2.3 rebounds in 12.7 minutes per game. He has played in 179 games, with 34 starts.

Does that read like the resume of a player who can afford to skip summer league? Does it read like the resume of a player who has his act together, is ready for a breakout season or simply has been misused or miscast?

Of course not. But Wright’s name wasn’t on the summer league roster the Hornets released Thursday. Even after first-year coach Monty Williams strongly urged him to participate – and that should have been reason enough – Wright apparently has chosen another path.”

You would think that a player like him that was highly-touted coming out of college and hasn’t really proved anything since being in the NBA would accept a summer league invite and really show the team he is on how good he really can be and that he is trying to get better.

During the season, he even demanded a trade. Who does he think he is demanding a trade? He has proved nothing so far and he was complaining about getting no playing time. You have to earn your playing time and work hard for it. Playing in the summer league would be a good start.

He’s a waste of talent. He was suppose 2 be lamar Odom 2.0, & he shockingly managed to be 100x more of a waste of talent then Odom, but if CP3 does get traded, it will be a lock that wright is involved in the deal.

i mean theres not many players in their 3rd or 4th year that are drafted in the 1st round and still play summer league. its almost like a joke for sum top ranked players to play in the summer league. Its also another way for him 2 be exposed. picture this: wright goe sout there and plays in the summer league. say he gets outplayed by sum undrafted rookie or whoever. that make shim jus look 5x as bad. also look at it from the other scenario. say he goes out there and plays outstanding. i mean isnt that wat u expect from a 4th year lottery pick? exactly. either way he’s kinda screwed if he plays in the SL.

Who does he think he is? He could be on his last legs for the NBA, so he must know he’s going to break out next season to reject Summer League. He should be playing as much basketball as possible

This is a shame. If I was barely hanging on to a NBA job, I’d be doing summer league, preseason and even offering the Owners and GM some drinks during halftime. If I was Monty Williams, I would have said ” Summer League or Pinkslip?”

He’s also not doing summer league because he did it last season and got shown up by Darren Collison and Marcus Thornton

Yeah I agree with that comparison, he’d have to get on with an up-tempo team to be his best too. The only difference is he can’t play FIVE positions like Diaw could/can, he’s a PG/SG/SF, but he’s shown no true ability to play 1 position really, so why let him play 3?
