Wow. I see this as either an absolute steal or bust for the Heat with no in between. If I were a betting man, he is not on the roster by season’s end.

He”s better then james jones and 45 yr old lewis.. But they signedhim for a season and it needs to be investigated.. I stumbled on evidence that jordan was failing on purpose.. I will find out why the heat signed beasley.. Brb

Low investment, low risk moves can’t be busts.
This move gets no reaction from me. It’s not like Beasley’s a good basketball player or anything.

i think this could be very good hypothetically of course. the reason is the obvious lebron factor. beasley could be a good asset when the heat go small and lebron might be able to hide beasley’s defficienies and make him become a better nba player. he does have the talent, he’s wasted it so far, but he does have it. and who knows, maybe there is a long shot that the big 3 and some of the other veterans on the team keep beasley in check. it’s worth the gamble. the worst thing that can happen is beasley gets cut.

Upside for them is they get a seventh or eight man who can shoot, score, and rebound from the 3 and 4 spots. At worst they have a guy they can waive or trade.

People talk about Mike Miller and his playoff productivity, but in a typical 7 game series for the Heat, he gave them one really good game (at most), two solid games), and was M.I.A. for the other four games. I think Beasley can at least do that.

Really? You must not have watched the playoffs. Miami may not have any titles during the Lebron James era without Miller. He’s not the same player he used to be and he can’t be counted on for big minutes, but he’s an excellent shooter, hustles and rebounds well for his position.

If he signs I can say he will not smoke weed this season period and may have one of the best seasons there hes dumb sometimes but not that dumb to blow his chance of redemption and a ring . His rookie season was his best season and it was playing under spoelstra and with wade.Good risk.

It’s a nonguaranteed minimum deal. Basically if he gives them anything it’s a good signing and if he screws up at all they cut him and don’t have to pay him anything. Great contract for the HEAT

For what it is worth, Wojo of Yahoo is confirming it is a one year, non-guaranteed deal with the Heat. Little risk (financial) with a fairly decent reward factor.

Basically he is better than James Jones and he is a solid 3rd string at SF and PF. If he works hard and earns time he can still make a decent career for himself and I think a year or 2 on the heat will help him mature because if he does anything dumb he will be let go.and he will be around good men like battier, james, haslem, wade.

Big decision by Pat Riley to re-hire him and something I admit that I never thought would happen. If Beasley screws up here, basically I think he is out of the league. He has a great set up around him, the best player in the league, two more all star/franchise guys, great veterans like Allen, Haslem and Battier etc.

Ironically the guy who I think could really help him is Chris Anderson who had drug issues in the past but has returned and won a title and could maybe be the sort of rough diamond to try and focus Beasley.

IMO it’s great for the heat to keep making acquisitions to make their team better. They aren’t content with the team they had a realize other teams are improving to make a run at the title, basically they did what the thunder didn’t do this offseason which was pick up players to improve.

I don’t see signing Beasley a big deal. I’m counting the Heat as two different teams, so this will be his fourth team, right? Beasley attended six different high school in 4 years, one year of college and 4 teams in the NBA now. So counting high school, college, and now his NBA career. The last 10 years, Beasley has played on 11 teams. And really what as Beasley done in the NBA? I’m hoping for the best for him, but too by now, he’s just another NBA player, nothing special.

Love it but the Heat don’t actually need him that much in my mind, they would try Haslem at back up 4 and if that did or didn’t work I’m sure their would be a veteran come March or April they could pick up. I guess that is what makes it so easy to sign him because they could cut him, lose almost no money and replace him.

Beasley gives the scoring that Miller gave them from the bench IMO, he can fill the 2nd unit minutes at SF and PF. Also they will want to use Ray Allen to maximum effect and will not want to over extend Greg Oden initially as well as watch the big 3’s minutes so Beasley will be in the mix with Battier, Lewis and Anderson for those type of minutes depending what the situation in the game is.

If the team goes all out for the 3-peat then keeping the big 3 and the veterans fresh will be a big key so the likes of Beasley does that role for them. Come play offs he would most likely be further down rotation as teams like Miami will play the big guns for more minutes and go to the real experienced guys like Battier, Allen etc as first bench options.

If Beasley and Oden pan out, this is another title for Miami.

Not only that but if Beasley and Oden show they can play, they are 24 and 25, respectively, it will give LeBron more incentive to stay. Playing with young guys as well as Wade and Bosh for a few more years.
