So now that at least 99% of the USA has heard the name Donald Sterling and is not glad they did, the infamous billionaire has issued his first public comments since his name has hit an all time low: "I wish I had just paid her off". In what is probably the most honest first statement ever after getting caught up in a scandal Mr. Sterling might have just let his public image and any chance at a court case against the NBA sink deeper into the abyss.

When the story came out, that’s exactly what came to my mind…why didn’t he pay her off??  You know damn well she went up to him with those tapes and said give me (x) amount of dollars and I won’t release these to the public.

Oh well, better off.  He’s a racist and a piece of sh*t.  He doesn’t deserve an organization.  Now he lost his team, and will have to pay 33% on taxes when the team is sold.

I don’t think he really cares either way. He bought the team for 12 million and they’ve been valued at over 800 million. The rich get richer and it sickens me that he will still make a boat load of money out of this incident.

I’m just absolutely stunned at how awful of a human being Donald Sterling is.  He actually puts in a lot of effort to be an absolute piece of crap human being.  I knew he was a horrific owner and one of the main reasons that the Clippers were so terrible for so long.  Now all of these things are coming out and I’m just amazed.  There are so many awful people in this world and he’s one of the worst.  It’s really quite sad.  What’s even worse is that he has no remorse or soul and could absolutely give a crap about what anyone thinks of him.  Is there anybody out there that likes Donald Sterling? What kind of guy heckles his own players?  I’m pretty sure the owners will vote to get him to give up ownership of the team so we will no longer have to hear about Donald Sterling and his bigotry and hatred.  I will not be sad if I never have to hear the name Donald Sterling ever again.

I have a query…the woman at the centre of this scandal seems to be getting off lightly. I’m not in America so I can only speculate…She seems like an equally despicable person in my eyes.

But why is a woman who is extorting and embezzeling an old man who clearly has a range of health issues being excused by the law?

Doesn’t this set a precedent for other gold-diggers who target billionaire men if she isn’t charged?

Charged with what? Even if she asked him for money to keep it quite it’s obvious she didn’t get much if any. I’m not very well versed in law but it seems to me that it would be shaky to call what she did illegal.

I’m not saying she wasn’t looking to get some money off an old, horny, and rich guy or that what she did was morally correct but it is hardly as bad as perpetuating racist sentiments.

It’s not shaky at all. Recording conversations secretly without the other persons permission then releasing said private conversations to the public is very much so illegal.

From doing a bit of research it seems as if it depends on which state the recordings took place in and if it was indeed the "gf" that was recording since she was an involved party in the conversation. If it was across multiple states it gets a bit blurry, but if it took place in one of the 11 states that require all parties to consent to recording then it was illegal, if not then she should be fine.

Again… what blackmail? And here is a link to an article where her lawyer states that Sterling consented to being recorded. http://news.yahoo.com/racist-remarks-clippers-owner-recorded-consent-lawyer-031612305–nba.html

The article states that HER lawyer says the recording occurred with Sterling’s consent.  What else is her lawyer going to say?  She recorded without his permission in an attempt to extort money, didn’t get what she demanded, and released the recording as punishment?

Lawyers lie lie all the time. ALL THE TIME.

My timeline is full of people commenting on the subject who couldn’t name 5 players in the NBA . It’s almost at #KONY2012 levels…

One of the first things I thought of, and kept thinking is he stupid that he didn’t pay her off, or made his wife back out of the suit against her.

Then I just found out now he has given her a over million dollar home, two Bentleys and a Ferrrari before this incident happened. Damn, she came up big just from being a ho like Superhead or those ho’s on those VH1 shows. These ho’s man.
