joe2324ParticipantThe Hawks look like the most well balanced, most displicined and best coached team in the East so far. As long as Hortford is healthy, I can easily see this team going to the finals. Now, whats interesting is they have the right to swap picks with the Nets If Nets go on a down hill slide and get in the lottery, the Hawks have a chance to become even better next year which is quite scary.
I’m going to be honest, I never saw this coming. Coming into the season, I thought the hawks were a 5 or 6 seed at best. When you look at this lineup, nothing really jumps out at you like the Bulls, Cavs even the Wizards, but my god they are very well coached and they buy into the system.

prophetmeirParticipantThey still lack that wing scorer that would be very much needed. I think they if jeff teague can be that type for them then I agree with you stated. I like the dennis teague lineup

doubledribblerParticipantI’m curious to see how what they are doing translates into the playoffs, but you have to give everyone credit for the improvement they have made. The coach has come in with a system, the GM has brought in players to fit the system, and all of the players have bought in. As far as this year is concerned, I think they can still get better. I don’t think Horford is 100% yet and Schroder is still improving.
The guy that has probably surprised me the most in the organization is Ferry. I think he did an awful job in Cleveland. He came into Atlanta and made some smart moves and some very bold moves that have paid off.

joe2324ParticipantI bet the NBA is CRINGING over a possible HAWKS VS SPURS finals.
As a fan, I would love it, but those two markets wouldn’t be great for ratings

ExumInfernoParticipantSan Antonio versus "Spurs East".
Fast Teague v fast Parker.
Fundamental Timmy versus fundamental Horford.
Shooter Korver versus clutch-shooter Manu.
Versatile Kawhi versus versatile Carroll.
Bonner versus Pero for threes.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI saw flashes from them last season (though inconsistent), especially in the first round of the playoffs, that told me they could be a great team. I know Antic can space the floor out to the three-point line, but I kept thinking… "If this team had Horford, they’d be great."
Teague, Millsap, Horford, Korver… Carroll/Thabo. Schroeder and Scott… To be honest, I love this team and the system that Mike Budenholzer has put in. They’re tough to deal with offensively because of the spacing and mismatch issues Millsap/Horford give you. Teague is attacking the P&R/gaps in the defense and basically looking like Tony Parker. You really have to give them credit for improving at the defensive end too. That’s the biggest improvement I see in this team.
I worry about the Hawks in a playoff matchup with a team like the Bulls, but I think they can beat the Wizards and Raptors. I need to see the way the Cavs play when LeBron returns and just how the recent trades impacts the team.

Mr. HookShotParticipantClearly shows how important good coaching is, having a solid system and letting players buy into that system. Buddenholzer for COY? More impressive then what Kerr does in GSW imo
