Has anyone ever considered the possibility of Lebron James going to the Nets?
I mean honestly if you were Lebron James why would you wanna go to the dumpster fire known as the current New York Knicks organization? They aren't well managed, they pretty much are gonna have to strip down there entire roster and start from scratch to build around him if he came, and he's already in a great situation in Cleveland.
But consider this: If Lebron were to go somewhere, why not the Nets? They are relocating to Brooklyn (which is still New York in case you haven't noticed). Insted of Duhon and Robinson, he gets to have Devin Harris as his PG. He has Brook Lopez and Yi there. And Vince Carter will prbably be outta there soon. Not to mention you all forget that Lebron James has a good relationship with Nets owner Shawn Carter (Jay-Z).
Just seems to me that if Lebron were going to go play in New York, the Brooklyn Nets would be a much more attractive situation.
That does make sense but I think that after this year and if they can get another star that the Knicks can be just as forminable.
I'm a big knicks fan but I agree with you. I've been saying that since last year. The Nets have a more promising young team with a legit PG and Center. Yi and CDR will keep getting better and I've always been very high on Sean Williams. I agree if Lebron goes anywhere it will be to the Nets. This being said, I dont think he will leave Cleveland.
I disagree with it. LBJ would be foolish to go there.
Expecially since they are expected to move to brooklyn. You also cant forget the most important part which is that LeBrons favorite rapper J-Zay has ownership of the team so i would make sense that he could possibly be a destination for him during the free agency.
thought of it, but I don't think the Nets will be in New Jersey...maybe they will, but why wouldn't he want to play with a global icon like Yi? Two Studs in Lopez and Harris too. They can add another nice piece this year and who knows where they will be in a year. Maybe Carter is gone and they make cap space? It is a possibilty.
If he goes to the Nets, with Harris, Lopez, and an improving CDR, Ryan Anderson, Yi, and this years lottery pick, i think in 2-3 years that team would easily be better than the Cavs team hes playing with right now. Harris and Lopez alone are better than anyone on the Cavs and there are lots of others with potential. The Knicks have some promising young talent too in Galinari, Chandler, Curry (maybe Rubio if they trade up)...The only problem is Chandler and Galinari both play the same position as LeBron and theres really no guard or center help like there is in NJ with Harris and Lopez.
Put him on the Nets in 2 years and they have potential to be like the Bulls of the 90s
I doubt Lebron will take the roster into consideration when he makes his mind of where to play. If he leaves Clevland for the Big Apple it will be about marketing and playing on the big stage. The Knicks have tradition and the Nets would be an opportunity to build the team from the ground up once they relocate to Brooklyn.
Any capable GM would be able to turn a team built around Lebron into a title contender with just a few solid moves. It's not like the Cavs have some crazy roster that can't be duplicated elsewhere.
I rather the Stars stay in place. haha. It ruins the fun, but only one I think will leave is Wade. Possibly Bosh, but I think Toronto will improve.
Lebron and Wade will stay. Bosh and Amare will leave. Johnson is up in the air. Houston will let T-Mac go.
The Nets won't be in New Jersey for at least another two seasons (the worst stadium in the league). They haven't even broken ground on the Brooklyn stadium (I live around the corner).
actually Chandler can play the 2 and Galinari can play the 4 remember this is Mike d we are talking about and if the Magics can play Lewis at the 4 who is smaller than Gallinari. Also Lebron could be the 3 and Lee or another star player would be the center and Curry or another star player would be at the one. They could tend pick up bargain players wanted to play with Lebron. There is a lot of cheap talent our there if you know where to look.
I think it makes sense especially alongside Yi. He doesnt have any special talent in Cleveland other than Mo Williams. If he moves to Ney Jersey he will have 2 or 3 players that will be better than Mo Williams. He develops Yi they are unstoppable and his market only expands more. Brooklyn Nets would have so many jersey sales with Yi, Lopez, Harris, LBJ, and maybe another free agent.
Danilo and Rashard are the same hieght and Rashard is 5 pounds more so ya Danilo could probably move down to four.
The Cavs are very UNDERRATED... He has 4 former all-stars on that team alone, so I'm POSITIVE Harris and Lopez aren't better...
But to the Knicks, here's the problem with them... They don't play defense (LeBron KNOWS you need that to win) and their roster is horrible... Not to mention they have to sign David Lee and Nate Robinson back... David Lee is probably gonna get around 10 mil and year and Nate around the same... That's 20 off the books with 6 mil on Jefferies contract (no one will take that), Galinari has 3 mil and Chandler has about 2 mil, with 3 going to this year's draft pick... Do the math and that's 33 mil... Not to mention with the league cap going down, say 50 mil... Can they sign Lebron for 17 mil and get Amare (or Bosh or Wade)? NO!!! IMPOSSIBLE...
What they could do though (since they wouldn't own Bosh or LeBron's bird rights) is sign LeBron (because I'm sure the Cavs wouldn't do a sign n trade) and sign and Trade for Bosh and send D. Lee off... And they would have enough money to sign role players to compliment them... But this won't happen, we are talking about the KNICKS, and nothing seems as good as it sounds...
The Nets will have 30 mil to spend in the summer of 2010... Their roster D. Harris, Vince Carter, Najera, Dooling,Yi, Lopez, Williams, and Anderson... WOW!!!!!!!... They could sign LeBron and somebody else... With a new arena? And Jay-Z, its looking like a lock... IDK? what you think?
Lebron would play in Brooklyn, but he's not playing in New Jersey, which is where the Nets will be for the next three years.
Harris and Lopez are better than anyone else on the Cavs.
