Harry Giles tears ACL - NBADraft.net

Harry Giles has partially torn his right ACL.This is the opposite knee of the one he tore up playing USA basketball years ago. When he tore his ACL,MCL and Meniscus in his left knee. It’s a really tough break for the kid and I wish a speedy and full recovery for him.He just came off of a broken hand injury. I’ve heard whispers of people labeling him to be "Injury prone." Will this injury make the label stick and will it hurt his future draft stock?

He should be fine since it wasn’t the same knee. Surgeons now say that ACL repairs make knees stronger than they were before, if rehabilitated correctly.
He’ll be announcing for Duke tomorrow at 12pm on Sportscenter.

  Surgeons say that..but I cant think of anyone who returns at the same level after knee surgery.
  NBA career isnt doomed, but you can take him off the next GOAT list.

man,thats terrible..dennis smith another top prospect will also miss his senior season…
but giles injury 2 yrs ago was much worst than this latest..and he bounced back this summer to be rated the top prospect for 2017…if he proves he’s healthy,he’ll still be in conversation for number 1 pick..he’s that good..

I feel so bad for the kid. Hopefully he can bounce back just like he did with his other knee. It’s Duke or Wake Forest. Think he ends up in Durham though.

Sad news, hopefully he fully recovers, at least he should be good to go for his NCAA season at some stage so it should not affect his draft stock too much and he is 20 odd months off his earliest possible draft entry.
There must be a concern about his NBA longevity as he has had two ACLs by the age of 17 and for a man of his size who may still be growing it could be a bigger concern than for other athletes. When he hopefully does get drafted no dsoubt any team taking him would want to put him through stringent medicals.

He will still play.. And have a decent career, but we very well maybe seeing what happened to Leon Powe happening to Harry Giles.. Everyone saying hes going to be fine, he very well maybe.. But he definitely wont be the same player weve come to regard as the best in the class.. Looks like #1 pick is Josh Jacksons to lose

I just think again its too much basketball. He flew all across the world playing in tournments almost every weekend with his AAU team as well as USA basketball U-18, U-19 teams. All this after really just getting over his first knee injury. Gotta rest..
