Harrison Barnes to Dunk Contest

I would really like him to enter the dunk contest, but he comes off as a guy that wouldn't do it to me. He is a overall great athlete. It's just his blow by foot speed that isn't as great in my opinion.

His athleticism is elite, its just his first step that is mediocre and he's inability to dribble on an advanced level..

As previously mentioned, Barnes' first step is what is questioned, not his overall athleticism. He is very athletic.

He had one of the highest max verts at the 2012 draft combine at 39.5". His no-step vert was 38", which I believe was the highest recorded at the combine.

It would be great marketing move for him. His functional athleticism on the offensive end is always questioned and for good reason, but he is very lucid and has the making of a very good defender. His pre-draft combine numbers were phenomenal. He should do it because at some point he will participate in the 3 point contest and has a shot a winning both one of these years. That's a great look and will help his popularity among casual fans.

Think about when Austin Rivers entered the McDonald's game Dunk Contest. Most people fingered him as a 3 point shooter but were surprised by his show of athleticism. I remember being surprised and it made me a bigger Rivers fan because I thought is was a ballsy move.

Idk if Barnes is creative enough for the contest. I see him as a in-game dunker who can take off on people when coming off-ball on slashes

i don't know if he could win it but it be great for him to do it.as you can see he's athletic.he needs more separation moves in his game like a step back or jab step
