4yrs/$71 million. That’s a lot of money for him, I doubt Atlanta matches. Even though he’s made some very good strides in the past 2 years there and had some huge 4th quarter performances this year.

It’s funny that NY (Phil) gave him up for not much, now they’re having to overpay to get him back.

I think we see Atlanta not commit too much money & runs with young guys like Schroeder, Prince, Bembry, Collins etc. and aim for top 5 pick

That actually sounds like a great path forward. The kind of path I wish the Knicks would take instead of overpaying for Tim Hardaway….

I actually like Hardaway as a player. He has shown great strides over his time in ATL. He’s a very useful player in today’s NBA. He can score efficently (19.1points/36min and a 57% true shooting %), and is much more passable on defense compared to his earlier days with the Knicks, and is only 25 years old.

Still as a Knicks fan I am not happy because the contract is a terrible overpay. I would have been comfortable giving a player like him $12-15 million per year. The almost $18 million he will make is a huge overpay, and the fact that he has a 15% trade kicker just kills his value. If we were going to shell out a big money contact to a RFA SG I would have much preferred KCP. So I’m hoping Atlanta will match, but it seems very doubtful.

Don’t see the Knicks end game with a contract like this, you over pay and make him even more untradeable with a trade kicker. Not that Hardaways a bad player but why clog up your salary unnecessarily before one of the biggest free agency summers ever next year?

Teams overpaying for these SGs… Waiters should have gotten more based off all the overpaid guys like Turner Crabbe Hardaway..

This is what happens when you can’t attract big names. You overpay for a slightly above average player

I think the Knicks have now overtaken the Kings as one of the worst run franchises….
