Hard to believe it's been a year: Jeremy Lin
I feel like this thread could use some facts about this Lin character.
Arent you that guy that was blasting me saying no way Drummond was going in the top 3 and he was the next Kwame Brown.
How do you like him now? #1 Fan?
If one year ago I would have told you Jeremy Lin would stand to make 25 million over the next 3 years what would you say?
It was crazy for me because for whatever reason i was looking into Asian PG's during the lockout(boredom i guess). Went and watched some of Lin's summer league highlights vs John Wall. Even watched some of his lockout vids on youtube of his workouts and his hopes of playing for his hometown Warriors when the lockout lifted. Then they released him, rockets released him and I kinda got excited when the Knicks picked him up and was waiting for them to give him some PT. I never expected the whole Linsanity thing.Glad i got to witness it. I don't care what anyone says about him now but that hot streak he had in with the whole Linsanity will be one of those great stories you tell years from now.
It was a great story and he was so fun to watch. He basically lived out what a lot of people would love to do. He got MSG buzzing, he came out of nowhere and started winning and playing pretty good. He was also so humble and surprised by it. He was ready to go to china if the knicks cut him, and the decision was a week or 2 away when it started. He had and still has the genuineness to him, he was really thankful and grateful for the opportunity. Regardless of how the rest of his career goes he has already greatly exceeded expectations for a PG coming out of Harvard.
Dont forget the awesome dagger he nailed in jose calderon's face to win at the buzzer
Linsanity was fun but right now with Harden there, he will not have the opportunity to do all for more than a few games if Harden is out. Lin had a few big games when Harden was out so it is possible that next year after having a healthy off season to iron out his weaknesses, he ups his averages to something in between now and Linsanity.
He's been a little dissappointing this season, but it's his first season as a full time starter, he's 24 and he's ranked 2nd in the NBA in steals and has a solid 2/1 assist to TO ratio.
I think he settles in and becomes a player very similar to Kirk Hinrich in his prime.
I agree completely. I think the expectations on him, while justified because of his contract, were a little too much. I think if he gets that jumper going he can be a slightly better version of Kirk Hinrich. That is a solid PG. I think most of us knew he wasn't a future All Star. I think he can be a good piece in Houston for the future with Harden, Parsons and Asik. They need one more go to guy and then some time to grow together.
In a way Lin & Harden are the same type of players, that love to run alot of pick & rolls..Both are good shooters, love slashing to the basket and can make plays....Lin's numbers might be a little better if he didnt defer to Harden so much..But HEY,Lin's showing he's smart, becuz ''THE BEARDED 1'' have then in playoff contention....
Today is also Lebron's momma and troublemaking singer Bobby Brown's birthdays

It's hard to believe it's been a year ever since Jeremy Lin burst onto the scene as probably the most thrilling underdog story we've witnessed in a long time. I remember how crazy we all went because he was putting up crazy numbers, it was insane. I'm not sure we'll ever see anything like it again. I remember checking stats on my phone, and seeing that Lin had 25. I had been very high on him for a long time, but I didn't think it would become as big as it did, and then to go on National Television 5 days later and play the game of his life against Kobe and the Lakers. He might not be the Star we thought he was after those 2 weeks, but those were really crazy weeks comparable to a Hollywood script, I honestly don't think we'll ever see anything like it again. I just remember being mesmerized by how great he was playing for those couple weeks, especially against the Lakers and Mavs, he really stole the show and was playing like there was no tomorrow.
