Big Kentucky fan here, I just watched a film breakdown of Diallo and to me he reminds me a little of DeRozan but I really don’t know too much about him yet. Does anyone know more about his game and what his role could be? And also what advantages he might have from enrolling early and being on the team for half a season already?

getting to college a semester early has some nice advantages:

    1. They learn TEAM defense, something top players usually lack and college coaches demand for PT.

    2. They learn how to balance college schedule and college practice schedule. Most freshman start in the summer and think they have it figured out and then Fall classes start and they struggle to adjust to the additional workload.

    3. They learn the coach. What he likes, what he hates, what vocab he uses to explain the game.

    4. For Diallo who already looked physically strong enough to compete right away, getting this mental/ game study headstart will make his transition to Freshman year even smoother. Looks like UK will rely on him a lot on the wing. Lots of UK guards leaving.
