Hometown move. He should

Hometown move. He should have looked at a team like Philly, Charlotte, Denver and New Orleans. Frye is a good player who growth got stunted sitting for 2 years in Portland.

Suns Are Being Eclipsed

I Think The Suns Are One team That Went from Finals Bound.......To Total Downward Spiral Of Their Franchise, Shaq For Marion Killed Them Now They Just keep bringing Bigman, that Are even that good.......even though frye was pretty great his rookie year

Grant Hill is staying with

Grant Hill is staying with the Suns too. I'm not sure what the Suns are trying to do with all these signings. They aren't even close to being a real contender. They should be a playoff team though as long as Amare isnt traded and stays healthy. I thought Phoenix was ready to just blow the team up and start over...I guess not.

Strange moves.

Aren't they supposed to be cutting salaries and if your rebuilding why sign Grant Hill, Frye is soft perfect for the Suns. Trade Amare and Nash then retool too bad they lost 2010 draft pick to OKC. Now they are looking to extend Nash makes no sense he's getting older too needs to be on a team that can win.

Frye is a decent Center/

Frye is a decent Center/ forward type player. Portland was not good for his growth because he was too similiar to Alridge. Portland was a team looking for toughness and that is not something Frye appears to have but pairing him with Amare looks interesting because Frye can be a great help defender with his length and he can shoot perimeter shots and lets Amare works the middle. He can also run the floor.

i really didnt see why the knicks didnt pursue him seing as he played here before and performed pretty well and he's 6'11 and athletic meaning hes the perfect center for Dantonis offense

amar'e could be on his way for alot of young talent. nash is getting an extension..i smell trade....

just don't expect the team is making the wrong decisions without knowing what's going on behind the closed doors.

I don't see what they have

I don't see what they have done that was so bad except trade Shaq. The will still have a fast quick line up for their offense. The have nice perimeter players and a decent bench. Lopez could possibly put up number similiar to his brother in a year or so. People forget they were both good but Robin was more defensive and needed time to get his offense on point but he has a lot of the same skill set.

Sheltwon has knowledge

Frye is a great pick up for PHX. He spreads the floor and will allow Amare to dominate the paint. Nash resigns along with Hill. Why, because those are the two leaders, bigtime contributors and only two guys over 28!! Rebbuild?? Why? The Suns made a mistake with Shaq and trading the picks, but that stuff is in the past. They still have LB 26, Amare 26, Richardson 28 (overpaid)Clark 21, Lopez 21, Frye 26, a good young core. The Suns went 46-36, changed offense twice, changed a coach, lost Amare, traded Raja and Boris and missed the playoffs by two games!!! Nash was 50 40 and 90, 35 or 25 yrs old, that means he can play.

Some of you guys need to stop repeating talking points on the Suns and make your own assessment, maybe you could be a little more accurate in your statements like Sheltwon!! Rebuild?? Please.

BTW

They could save up to 18 million on trading Shaq to Cleveland!!! Freeing up money for 2010. People act like the Suns went 29-53 or something.

Nobody asked the Lakers to blow it up when they went below .500 and didn't make the playoffs in 04-05. They didn't ask LA to blow it up when they were one and done in 05 and 06. Kobe was the only person talking about blowing up the Lakers in 07!!!

Stop showing your bias' people.

I think Frye will be a good

I think Frye will be a good player for the Suns, because he fits in pretty perfect there. Dont sleep on him, he showed some great things in New York, and from time to time in Portland. This signing matters, but it isnt the type that will make them a true contender.

thank u jmac and sheltwon.

thank u jmac and sheltwon. trading shaq just helps phoenix become what they used to be. amare will get his 25 a game again. frye gives them a seven footer that can spread the floor as well as rebound better than some of the guys in the past, nash will be around 16pts and 11ast, barbosa will get 15 off the bench, j rich is 18-20. and people were pegging this team as a 2010 top 5 draft position. they most likely wont win a championship but with amare being the number 1 option again they could win up to 55 games next year.

Haha you Phoenix fans are

Haha you Phoenix fans are too funny. Frye is not a difference maker.

PG- Nash
SG- Richardson
SF- Hill
PF- Frye
C- Amare

That lineup is not going to even come close to winning a title. That is why I figured the Suns should just try to get younger. They should've spent money on someone other than Hill. Lopez is never going to be a good starter for a playoff team. I do think Clark can start eventually.

Rebuild??? Hell yes....why not when you will never have a championship team with the current core.

Yea

Earl Clark is going to be groomed by Hill, its only a matter of time before he gets the starting job. I think he will be one of the better SF's in the game in the near future.

Why is does it not matter?

They got a solid player who can play 4/5 for a team with little no inside game, at a great price for that matter. Does Channing turn them into title contenders? Hell no, but few free agents tend to do that. With the Suns obviously coming close to self destruct mode, signing Channing I think at least gives fans a little more hope that they are at least trying to win. Channing had a fantastic rookie year in my opinion, having watched him play at Zona and having my questions about his transition to the NBA. He struggled in Portland and was in Nate McMillan's dog house, but it was mainly because he provided no change from LaMarcus Aldridge. Nonetheless, Channing has a nice offensive skill set and does some great things for a guy his size. I compare him to a poor man's LaMarcus and think that Phoenix could be a nice opportunity for him. He did not get a chance in Portland, but not many players are going to beat out LaMarcus for minutes. I think this was a great signing for the Suns, Channing is a great guy and will be a fan favorite. His blog is great and he is a genuine and down to earth person, and I believe he needed a nice change of scenery to get back on track. Phoenix got themselves a great deal.
