Admit it, we all have those guys that deep down, for whatever reason, we thoroughly wish to see them succeed. Maybe its their style of play, or the university they played at, or something else thaat attracts us to them, but theres just something about some of these guys that you just want to see succeed.

For instance, last year I was hoping and  praying someone would take a flyer on Isaiah Thomas, being from Seattle, a lot of my friends have ran into him at restaurants and what not and they say hes nothing short of a class act. no pun intended haha…. anyways, a guy last year that I think MANY of us wanted to see succeed and he hasnt let us down is Kenneth Faried, i think we all enjoy his wildman hustle, his above the rim highlights, and that ridiculous set of dreads hes got on his head.

A couple guys I always wished would have panned out were Ademola Okulaja for UNC, guy was a 6’8” 230 lb. forward with a super cool name and he was a black german and believe me, at age 8 you think those dont exist

Also, I loved Osiris Eldridge and it stings he didnt make it. Dopest hair-do on the earth and the guy could drain 32 footers like he was getting 4 points for em.

Anyways, which prospects do you want for THIS DRAFT that you really just want to see drafted and see get a lot of minutes?

    For me:

Ricardo Ratliff and Royce White, Ratliff is just a beast and had he been on a team with a more inside-focused game, could have been a far bigger producr. White has had to overcome a lot and I respect him plus im intrigued by his unique skillset. ok fire away.

I wish Julius Hodge would of made it one of my favorite college players and also Shawnta Rodgers from GW.

I hope Dee Bost and Lamarcus Lowe make it out of this years class.

being a longhorns fan, there are a couple guys i really want to succeed.

dexter pittman – came into texas at 350+ lbs.  worked his way down to under 290 lbs.  brother was shot and killed on draft night.  hard worker that improved every year at texas.

j’covan brown – sat out his freshman year with academic eligibility issues.  since being on the team, he’s been on the big 12 commissioner’s honor roll list and was named to all big-12 academic team.  entered the draft to take care of his daughter.

Juluis Hodge is a bit of a snob though, be played a few seasons in a the Aussie NBL and during that despite being one of the leagues stars drummed up a lot of controversey when he spat on signiture of league legend Brett Maher (the signiture was on the floor of his team the Adelaide 26ers). Despite this Hodge was a talented player sand one of those guys who couldn’t manage to "put it all together".

I really want Andre Drummond to succed. The guy is a physical speciman with obvious potenial and looks like he can develop to become a great post player but he didn’t put up great numbers this season and is only being drafted in the lottery due to potenial.

I also want Jared Sullinger to make it in the league because there aren’t enough guys who rely and skill and effort over natural athletism these days.

I really wanna see Jerryd Bayless find a place where he can start and be effective. I also wanna see Ben Gordon get back to this old ways, maybe not 19-20ppg but be a very good shooter off the bench like Jason Terry.

I still want to see what Lance Stephenson can do in extended minutes, whenever I’ve seen him play he’s played within the team concept and shown great understanding of when to pass and when to shoot. He doesn’t seem to have a future with the Pacers with Hill and Barbosa in the fold, and Gordon apparently eyeing a return home to boot. Hopefully his next team will give him a chance, maybe the Cavaliers, who are weak at the SG spot and could use another shot creator, or the Bulls, who could use a scorer off the bench come playoff time. I strongly feel there is somewhere in the NBA that he could thrive, I just can’t seem to find it.

I loved him at Villinova, and that shot he made to beat pitt in the NCAA tournament was great. Allen Ray. He played at Villinova with lowry and foye. They both played hard and I still hope that they can make it into the NBA

I’d love for Randolph and Biyombo to succeed.  I don’t believe PJ III will, but I’d really like him to, as well.  God I hope he doesn’t end up on the Bobcats or Warriors.

I really want Drummond to succeed. If he finds the right team, he could be a perennial allstar/all nba teamer

For me it would be Quincy Acy. I really like his effort and demeanour. Strange comparison, but somehow he reminds me a bit of Kevin Willis with his body language etc. (though less skilled).

I’d have to say Kendall Marshall in this year’s draft. He just seems like the ultimate team player and I think he’ll be a Top-10 PG in the League one day.

Current NBA players: Tyler Hansbrough, Danny Green, Raymond Felton. I also want to see Grant Hill get a ring. He is the only Dookie that I’ve ever liked.

Harrison Barnes, I have never seen someone get some much hate off 2 game disappointment. I know he didnt play  up to people expectation but dude didn’t write his on press or call himself the next coming. He is a 19 year old kid with still a ton of talent. I really hope he turns in to a top player in the league. I wish people would stop forcing the next MJ next LBJ on guys and just enjoy the players for who they are.

    Perry Jones III

Perry is one of those prospects that I hope can put it all together in the NBA. There aren’t many players in the NBA at 6’11"that are as gifted athletically as PJIII. He could be a lot of fun to watch at the NBA level.

I don’t know how many of you have read this article, but it definitely made me want to see him succeed.

It’s Austin Rivers for me. He’s got some skill and that first step is wicked. Worried about his size a little (same height as Dwayne Wade, but Wade is exceptional and it’s not really fair to compare college kids to him), but I’ll be rooting for him.

I’d also agree with the general sentiment on Greg Oden. I feel sorry for him.

Boobie Gibson! I don’t know why and how he disappeared after that stellar playoff performance when LeBron was there. Boobie was lights out! I know he will never get back to that level of play, but it sure as hell would be exciting to see him stretch the D again ad finally for once take someone off the dribble.

If we are talking prospects then I reall want Drummond, MKG and Barnes to succeed, all of these guys have been overlooked in favour of Davis, but I feel each of them will have a better career than Davis.

Also, I really want Tyreke Evans to figure it out, he’s got so many skills and that handle is filthy, he just needs a good coach to teach him how to put it all together and fix his shooting.

Anthony Randolph. He can produce if he’s given minutes, and I think he’s at least smarter than JaVale McGee. Plus he just looks so sad.

In the league now I hope Oden can make a comeback. And from this draft I want to see Thomas Robinson be successful with all that hes been through the last year and also Jae Crowder just for how he brings it every play. I hope he finds the right spot in a rotation.

jae crowder in my top 30 big board…30 and still underrated. the guy call ball imho, as a sf. he can spot up. and if open he comfortably shoots off the dribble, got some decent handles, good D, motor, decent post game…# underrated.

I’m really hoping Drummond succeeds. It’s not very often that a player with his size and athleticism comes along.

Nerlens Noel as well. His highlight videos are amazing to watch. I love guys who are terrific shot blockers. Throw in his name and the high top fade, I really want him to be successful.

I want to see THomas Robinson suceed so he can gain full custody of his sister and give her the best life possible minus parents.  Perfect story would be Robinson to the Wizards so his sister and him could stay in DC around family.

I really want to see Barnes and MKG succeed, I’m a really big fan of both of them. Not exactly who I want to see succeed because he already has, but I want to see Steve Nash have a chance at a ring. He’s probably one of the nicest guys on earth, one of the most skilled players ever, and is truly amazing at making others around him better. He deserves a chance to play for a title.
