Griffin dunk of the year
heck of a dunk... but you think thats better then the Oop lebron caught yesterday over Lucas? either way both dunks were crazy.
on a side note, the dunk that westbrook attempted earlier but missed would of been a dunk of the year candidate as well!
That dunk on Mahimi was absolutely nothing like this...
LeBron got a running start from the three point and took off of one leg... Mahimi (all 220 lbs of him) barely put any body on him.
I repeat... LeBron has never came down the lane, jumped off of two feet and dunked on a big man like that with that kind of contact.
LeBron lays it up in those situations. Prove me wrong and youtube it KayJay. The only player I've seen LeBron dunk on like that is 6' 2" Damon Jones.
I was answering your statment that Lebron never dunked on a 6'10 guy that is 260. Didnt look down and realise you had more to say. I do agree with everything you said.
To be honest, both dunks are extremely close. Yeah, LeBron dunked over a 5'11 PG, but still... who else in the NBA could dunk over a 5'11 anything?
Regardless, I have to say Griffin's dunk was better, not by a lot, but better. Not to mention, it was an and-1.
LeBron's was sick too lol. That was the play of the year until today.
The reason I'd give Griffin the big edge is because he didn't get the running start that LeBron did and he just took so much contact. I mean, Perkins made his rotation perfectly and met Griffin at the rim. Perkins is a strong guy and Griffin just murdered him.
But LeBron is no doubt the best one/left foot jumper in NBA history.
After watching it again, Indiana
LeBron didn't have much of a running start. He started running from the 3pt line and there's where Blake began his path to the basket as well.
Idk... Just the whole gather was different for both players. LeBron had straight line run from the three point line... Griffin set/slipped a pick right inside the three point line, reverse pivot and then just took a few steps before he had to gather and power up. I don't even think that was a "run" Griffin did.
Both great dunks.
Yeah, I really wouldn't have an issue with anybody choosing one of these two dunks over the other. I doubt any other dunk this season can top either.
Im going to wait until sports science covers these two plays,(which you know they will) and then wait till they determine which one was physically more impresseive and then we can call that one the dunk of the year.
But Lucas never had a chance so Im going to go with Griffin
Which is better? Griffin or Simpson... I mean we all are basketball fans..

The thing is, usually athletes jump off two feet for height and one foot for distance.
LeBron obviously has the vertical so he simply does not need to jump off both feet. If he already has an insane vertical and goes for distance instead, that shouldn't be a knock on him.

If you examine the instant replay in slow motion and very closely, you can see Blake Griffin actually &$#%#&@! on Kendrick Perkins
This looks like the Timofey Mozgov dunk of last year, but even better. He threw it down harder, on a much more physical defender.
You can debate dunk of the year with 3 months remaining in the regular season still all you want, but theres no arguing this was an absolute monster dunk, one were gonna see repeatedly for the remainder of the year.
Blake brought shame to Kendrick Perkins...LeBron dunked over a dude that's 5' 11" at 6' 8" he's supposed to be doin that..
None of these are anywhere near Shawn Kemp demoralizing ppl back in the day
Griffins dunk is way better. That &$#%#&@! is incredible. The height he gets is hard to put in words. However, what indianabasketball saying Lebron only gets his dunks by driving it in the lane, that is FAR more difficult than what Griffin has to finish. LeBron is 30 feet from the rim many times and has 3 help defenders in the paint sometimes, all griffin has to do is finish. and dont kid yourselves, Lebron could finish.
LeBron's an incredible finisher. I'm not even saying he's not. Just saying, I've never seen him just come down the lane, go up off of two feet, *take contact* and finish like that over a big man. He usually quick jumps off of one foot (which he's the greatest at history at probably). The times I've seen LeBron jump off of two feet and take contact, he's usually layed the ball up.
Because he is a one foot dunker. He has done that off one leg which is more impressive than 2. He is never in the situation Griffin is in either. Just catching the ball with nobody in front of him and a big man under the rim., he gets the red carpet. LeBron could finish those also.
Kobe, Wade, Kemp, Vince, T-Mac, Baron, Jordan, Pippen, etc... All of those guys can jump off of one foot too.
I always thought you jumped off of one for the quick jump or for distance, and two when you were about to get contact at the rim.
LeBron has the most powerful/expolsive left leg/foot jump in NBA history though, so it probably doesn't even matter lol. I just know most of the time I've seen him take contact and go up off of two feet, he's layed the ball up.
"athletes jump off two feet for height and one foot for distance."
As I stated in earlier in this thread.
LeBron doesn't need to jump off two feet, jumping off two feet is to jump higher, LeBron's insane vertical does not need him to jump off two feet, he'd rather go for distance.
Just like you've never seen LeBron dunk off two-feet to get vertical, I've never seen Blake jump off one foot 8-10 feet away from the basket like LeBron usually does. They're just two completely different dunkers.
Best dunk of all time are you *(^%&$* kiddin me? You guys obviously weren't watching basketball when Shawn Kemp dunked on ppl every game. Or when Scottie Pippen dunked on Patrick Ewing and walked over him. Or when Vince dunked on dude in the Olympics
GTFOH with that greatest dunk mess. Yea Blake leaned over Perkins but naa he doesn't compare to what Kemp, Pippen, and Vince did

Jumped out my seat on that dunk. I see durant bringing his team closer good game
