HaleParticipantHave we all forgotten about this guy? He’s never talked about as far as I know and he’s becoming one of the better bigs in the NBA.
In under 30 mpg he is shooting nearly 59% from the floor while getting 13.8 ppg and 8.6 rpg. I know most the people on this site weren’t very high on him going into the draft (outside of Iggy) but he is becoming a pretty good player for Detroit.

Malik-UniversalParticipantmonroe is a nice, nice young player
i just dont like it when he shoots to many mid range shots, good face up player to say the least
hes not very explosive, but just crafty…

TC_42ParticipantI love Monroe’s game. It kind of feels like he has that “old man game” like Harden does. When it was announced the Thunder made a trade on draft night a couple years ago, I was hoping it was for Monroe. He would be a near perfect fit right now. Got the stiff Aldrich instead.

JaeEvolutionParticipantReally like Al Hoford, but I would trade Al Horford and Hawks 1st round pick for Greg Monroe and Ben Gordon in an instant. Ben gives the Hawks a Jamal Crawford scoring presense off the bench, and Greg Monroe is a ‘legit’ Center who would give us defined positions for each of our players for once. While the Pistons get an all star and proven guy that can be efficient all year and a 1st round pick to help speed up their rebuilding.

Malik-UniversalParticipant^ i think horford is overrated, i wouldnt want him on the pistons…
people think he’s so good in the post, when hes really not that great
hes a good player but nothing that special
and i remember the 2010 draft, i really wanted cousins on the pistons, but man, im so glad we dont got him now lol…
monroe got game to

JaeEvolutionParticipantYeah Universal, Horford has improved his mid-range shooting a lot, but he hasn’t added a post move at all, very one dimensional. Monroe would be such a perfect fit on the Hawks a big that can pass with all the motion Larry Drew has put in, would just be fun to watch and I think it would put us in legit contention, just me dreaming.

sheltwon3ParticipantI was high on because I felt he was talent and because he is from New Orleans. Kings should have picked him 5th because his passing probably would help their poor ball movement but that could be also because of the coach.
It is sad that Detroit sucks because their management has no idea what they are doing. They should have just started rebuilding with young players instead of overpaying vets who are not even in their all star forms. They should have let Prince go and picked up a young small forward in the draft. I remember when they could have had Kaman for Prince. They would have had a solid front court of Kaman and Monroe but they were stupid.

invalidParticipantthats a good trade idea. horford is a solid PF/C player, but as of now, monroe’s potential is more valuable than horfords production is.
