mbunner23ParticipantCharles for the Suns over Nashin my opinion. He got them to the finals, just happened to run into the greatest player of all time.

dremill24ParticipantCharles I don’t think actually meets the 5 seasons criteria (if we’re going by the original poster’s rules)

XYRYXParticipantI have to go with KG here. He brought an MVP trophy to town and actually even wasted more years in Sota than K-Love.

Jr. ROXASParticipantToronto Raptors- Vince Carter
Washington Wizards- Gilbert Arenas, bring on the negs but this guy was a stud with the Wizards. He was also one of the most marketable players in the league at that time, and put DC back on the map after several years. Too bad injuries (and guns) ruined this guy’s career.

Dgtool2ParticipantArenas was good with Washington, but I would probably go old school with Elvin Hayes or Wes Unseld. Hayes led the Bullets to an NBA championship with Unseld.

Dgtool2ParticipantKings – This one you would have to go back to when they were the Cincinnati Royals. Oscar Robertson
Clippers – This is a hard one. Looking back at the stats I guess Elton Brand would be a consideration since Paul or Griffin haven’t been on the squad for 5 years.

Jester87ParticipantAtlanta – Nique
Boston – I love Bird, but I have to go with Russell.
Brooklyn – Kidd, and it’s not even close
Charlotte – How we do this one, I mean now they’re again the Hornets, so should we consider guys from the old Hornets too or they are the Pelicans? By the way with the old teams I’d say Larry Johnson slightly over Baron Davis. If we only count from 2004, I’d say Big Al even if he doesn’t meet requirements because it’s just too depressing to think a franchise greatest player has been Gerald Wallace
Chicago – Eddy Curry
Cavs – LeBron
Dallas – Dirk
Denver – Close between English and Melo, but I lean towards English, mostly because of how Melo left the team and because they didn’t get worse without him
Detroit – Thomas is a no brainer here
Golden State – Rick Barry
Houston – The Dream
Indiana – Reggie
LAC – Interesting, I’d say Bob McAdoo, but he was traded during his fifth season (they were still playing in Buffalo). It’s either Brand or Danny Manning, until Paul plays his fifth season in LA
LAL – Really tough here. Jerry West, Shaq, Kobe, all great names, I think I’d go with Magic mostly because he’s been the undisputed franchise cornerstone basically throughout his whole career, whil Kobe was the man only after Shaq left. But I wouldn’t have anything to say if someone likes Kobe more. Shaq was the most dominant in his prime, his highs were higher, but he didn’t win as much as Kobe and Magic and didn’t stay there as long as them
Memphis – Z-Bo? Pau was great but played in lesser teams so he made the playoff only 3 times and lost in the first round each. You could make a case for Marc too, I guess.
Miami – Until LeBron plays his fifth season D-Wade is the man
Milwaukee – Kareem easily
Minnesota – KG made the conference finals once, Love never made the playoffs. It’s not all of his fault, but that’s just the way it is.
New Orleans – CP3, even considering the old Hornets in Charlotte
New York – Tough one. Reed or Frazier? Ewing has never won anything but he’s been an iconic players for so many years, deserves at least mention. I’d say Frazier, but the other two are fine too.
OKC/Seattle – I guess Durant has surpassed Payton, though I’d really like to remember the Glove, so I split the two teams and say Durant for OKC and Payton for Seattle (cheating here)
Orlando – Shaq played only four years for the Magic, I’d love to say Penny because he was one of my favorite players growing up, but Dwight has had a bigger impact on the franchise.
Philly – Dr. J (Chamberlain played only four years)
Phoenix – With Sir Charles not meeting requirements, Nash, but also Westphal deserves consideration.
Portland – Walton
Sacramento – Oscar Robertson with the Royals, I guess C-Webb over Ritchmond as Sacramento Kings
San Antonio – Timmy D
Toronto – Carter over Bosh
Utah – Stockton & Malone, they can’t be separated
Washington – Unseld (Hayes it’s okay too).0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/10/2014 - 1:52am #916713
