Granger on the block

Apparently Indiana is now willing to listen to offers for Granger, but I can't think of an obvious place for him to go. Ideas?? Would you want him on your team?

I'd like to see Detroit trade for him. It's time they got a 'star' player. They'd have to figure out a way to get rid of either Ben Gordon or Charlie V... Gordon, Granger, and Villanueva on the floor together would be defensively worse than Phoenix and Golden State combined.

My absolute dream would be to find a way to get rid of most of Stuckey, Hamilton, Prince, Villanueva, Gordon, and whoever else. Then trade for Granger and/or Iggy. Sign Aaron Brooks as a FA. Draft Kanter.

Brooks
Iggy
Granger
Monroe
Kanter

Dumars destroyed the franchise by putting together a terrible team and killing flexibility. It can't happen, but it would be a fun team to watch.

Detroit doesn't make sense to

Detroit doesn't make sense to me. Granger will not help them get to the playoffs this year, they are in rebuilding mode, so taking a player who probably has 2-3 years left in their prime w/ big contract is not a good longterm plan for them.

A team that makes sense to me are the Knicks. He, Amare, and Felton could challenge some of the big 3 in the East. It would take less pressure on Amare to take the burden of the offense every night. If the Knicks make this move, I could see them being perhaps a top 3 team in the East.

Utah would be a terrific fit.

Utah would be a terrific fit. But I'm not sure they would make a major play for him. They could really use a top swingman though and he would fit the bill. They probably won't be willing to give up enough to get him though.

A few trades that work on the trade machine include:

A: Indiana gets Gordan Hayward and Andrei Kirilenko

Utah gets Danny Granger and Mike Dunleavy

B: Indiana gets Gordan Hayward and Andrei Kirilenko

Utah gets Danny Granger, James Posey and Brandon Rush

C: Indiana gets Gordan Hayward and Andrei Kirilenko

Utah gets Danny Granger, James Posey and Dahntay Jones

In all these situations the Pacers seem to be getting short changed however, Utah could throw in a few 1st rounders to sweeten the pot but that still might not be enough for a player of Granger's ability.

@TC_42 Post the link where

@TC_42

Post the link where you read Danny Granger is on the block.

And @ItsDwightHoward

Short changed isn't even the word to describe those trades proposals.

The link I saw didn't exactly

The link I saw didn't exactly say that Granger is on the block, but that the Pacers no longer considering untradeable and are now listening to offers.

@indianabasketball

I actually meant to put a question mark after the topic... 'Granger on the block?' I didn't mean to suggest that he was actively being shopped, just that the Pacers are entertaining offers for him.

http://espn.go.com/nba/dailydime/_/page/dime-110107-09/trimester-awards

"There are some fresh rumbles in circulation that the Pacers are softening their no-trade stance on the Team USA swingman. The Pacers have generally resisted trade interest in Granger, including feelers from Denver earlier this season about Indiana's willingness to include Granger in multiteam Carmelo Anthony trade scenarios.

One source with knowledge of Indiana's thinking, however, said this week that the Pacers -- 6-11 and fading since their big November wins over the Heat and Lakers -- have not dismissed every recent proposal that includes Granger."

I think Granger would be a great fit in New York and he'd have no problems co-existing with Stoudemire. Granger shoots a lot, but doesn't necesarily have to dominate or hold onto the ball. I think he'd really thrive playing alongside a legit number one option in Stoudemire. He'd also get to shoot plenty of three's in New York without anybody complaining about it.

What kind of deal could the Knicks offer the Pacers for Granger?
