Just Wondering what you guys think Gordon Hayward will decide to do in free agency.  I believe that he could profoundly change the future of a franchise if he signs with them, or could find himself locked into a crappy situation on a meddling team. George Hill has come out and said that Haywards decision will definitely effect his as well. And I believe that FA’s from other teams will be taking his decision into account when making their own.

I tend to believe that Hayward would love to reunite with one of the only D1 coaches to believe in him, Brad Stevens. But also think that Utah has a good chance of resigning him as they can offer him the most.  I’m predicting that he signs with Boston and will really give them a chance to compete in the east.  Boston also has a lottery pick that could wind up being top 3.  And regardless of their recent success, we all know that the FO in Boston has a lot more work to do to get them into serious contention.  If they add Hayward, I could definitely see them turning their picks into a package to bring in another veteran contributor.

So, what’s your prediction? What would you like to see? What impact(s) will his decision have on the rest of the league/other FA’s?

Going to Boston would be his best option because Utah will have a tougher time in the West than Boston has in the East.  Hayward and their draft picks could put them over the edge to take on an aging Lebron.

I personally thinkk he goes to Boston to play for his old coach, But if hes not going to boston i dont think he will go anywhere.

Utah is only going to get better.

Hey Sheltwon3… Do you still think Hayward is the worst player from his draft class? What did I tell you lol?

Depends on timing. If Gordon Hayward signs with the Celtics soon or basically tells everyone that he is, I can see the Celtics going "all in" to win the title — or at least the East.

I then think that they trade their pick, Jaylen Brown, and Marcus Smart (plus a contract) to Chicago for Jimmy Butler.

Great haul for Butler and the C’s get a "big four" of IT, Butler, Hayward, and Al Horford with Jae Crowder, Bradley, and Olynyk as solid role players…

I think he resigns in Utah. I think they’re building something good out there and hopefully Hayward wants to see it through.

probably resigns with Utah. I don’t know how you can turn down 200 plus million.

As for a Boston super team with Hayward, Butler and IT…I don’t see that team being able to gel. Way too many ball dominant players.

He can’t get 200m unless he makes all NBA (doubt it).

Firstly I would do the following:

One sit down with Utah and ask 3 questions:

What is the teams future direction-Such as who will you go after,How will we beat the Warriors etc..

What are you going offer me-$ wise and year wise

    and

Can you get us insert player name here…

After you have sat down with Utah who are honestly a solid P.G away from being in that legit contender conversation again-CP3 maybe?

You then formulate a list of teams you could see your self being a contender(other than utah) on such as maybe any of these 5 teams if they can make the cap work…

Indiana-Paul george,Miles turner,Gordan hayward-who is from indiana all you need to get is a legit Point guard -Jrue holiday,CP3 or someone of that nature..Gordan also is from Indiana..

Minnesota-Imagine this -Towns,Ibaka(who would be alright beside towns),Hayward,Wiggins,Rubio(if not traded or upgraded for a better PG)

with a bench of Dieng,Lavine,Dunn and maybe their own pick who could be a top 6(Taytum,Jackson or another need) That would be quite a deep and young team with a solid coach…

Boston-the obvious reason coach and they have the assets to be even deeper-Trade a little bit of their youth like a avery B + both brooklyn picks for insert star name here..

Clipper -this is more of a stretch also in that Blake,Cp3 all would have to take cheap deals and somehow dump some of those bad deals-like Jamal C and Austin Rivers..

NOLA-This one is more of a wildcard…Think about this a second- Boogie,A.D,Gordan and wait for it…CP3 who takes a discount and comes to finish things(ala Lebron and A.D tells CP they have G.H on the way) where he started the hard part would be dumping some of the bad deals to  get the required needs…Well unless you could get some cheap ring chasers..

Then after all is said and done you either meet with above 5 teams or just re-up with Utah which none of which would be horrible moves..

Hayward is going to sign with the Celtics. A Fultz Hayward offseason would be great

Boston and linking up with Brad Stevens is always going to be an option, if Boston get him, I don’t actually see them going all in as Hayward’s window isn’t really closing and he’s not a big enough star to want immediate running mates there, so I’d draft if I was Ainge and have younger guys around the established stars.

A lot depends where Boston end up in the draft as outside of Fultz and Jackson others don’t seem such a natural pick and if they had Jackson, Hayward and Brown you’d have a SF logjam but trading and adding say Butler gives you Hayward and Butler so who plays PF?

Boston would be a great career move. And they have the assist to get a big and compete with the Cavs next year

I don”t think Boston despite history with coach is interested in investing what it would take to get him.

Yes he is an allstar, superstar he is not.

The move would not get them past the Cavs in the Lebron era.

I also don’t think Hayward is an allstar outside of Utah.

         my point exactly

Boston if they are that atractive to Hayward could get him in theory for less, but why would he want to leave Utah in the first place? More Money, more responsibility, better chance to win,and one name that boston doesn’t have: Rudy.

     Hope he stays in Utah.

League needs more competitive teams – not less.

For people saying he is going to go join Brad Stevens because he coached him at Butler how does that make any sense? Just because hes partial to Stevens hes gonna leave Utah? His relationship with Snyder is probally just as good if not better. Stevens got him to the league, Snyder got him to develop into a max contract player and the Max will be much more at Utah than at Boston. There are absolutely no signs indicating anything but positivity from both parties being Hayward and Utah. Hes not leaving.

If I could give you +500 points I totally would. This is what I have been telling people. He’s staying in Utah, for those reasons you just listed.

There’s a reason why Utah drafted him back in 2010. They knew he was a small-town guy that had immense talent, just needed to tap into it. Utah helped him do that. He’s a small-town guy, that likes the quiet life. He doesn’t need nor want the big, fame and fortune like most other atheletes want in places like Cali, Boston, or you know the big markets. He’s a family guy, and will do what’s best for him and his family. Therefore he stays in Utah, and knowing this Utah drafted him in 2010, passing on Paul George. Because they knew going into the future he would want to leave for a bigger market. (Look what’s happening with PG13 in Indy and him wanting to be traded to LA, Boston or DC! Is this happening with Hayward?, No!)

Bottom line: Utah got the guy that had immense talent, that was willing to stay in a small market, tapped into his potential, built around him, and now just have to bank on what they already drafted him for. Easy-they got this.

      Hayward is staying in Utah.

He is going to sign with Boston. Not sure if you can ultimately win a ring dedicating 35m a year to Hayward. We saw a 16m a year Hayward just get swept.  Celts will be top 3 in the East for a long time though.
