Gordon Hayward (Freshman from Butler)
No idea what he'll be considered in a few years when he starts thinking about the NBA but he has been one a very underrated player this year and has played great basketball, especially for a freshman. Unfortunately for him Butler gets pretty much no recognition despite being a ranked team all year and when someone actually does talk about Butler they talk about his forward teammate Matt Howard who is a good play in his own right. Tough to project a guy when I haven't seen him hardly at all but his numbers are great for a freshman, especially his percentages (48.7 FG%, 82.6 FT%, 45.9 3-pt%) those are all spectacular numbers for a first year player.
I played high school ball with Gordon at Brownsburg. I watched him grow from 6 foot to about 6 8 in two years. His athleticism flies under the radar because he is such a humble player and doesn't seem to boast it during the games. He is quick as can be and has a very nice array of dunks. I've seen him windmill with ease and have seen him hurt during a pick up game because he hit his elbow on the rim. No question he is plenty athletic and he seems to double in strength each year. Im pretty sure he doesnt even shave yet, so he still has some physical maturing to do. Two years and this kid will be a beast.
I am a former player for Spiece Indy Heat and Indiana Elite and I was a teamate of Gordons for a few years. His athleticism will not blow you out of the water but he has very deceptive athleticism. He can get by any player on the court and will shoot over you. I can probably count the turnovers I seen him commit on one hand in 3 years. I personally think he could end up being a bigger and alot smarter verson of dan marjerle or a smaller dirk nowitzki. And honestly he is more athletic than both of those players. He is an instant contributer on the court no matter the area.
dude can play. I only watched him like twice last year, but he has skills. Can put it on the floor and pull up off the dribble. I'm looking forward to see what he has this next season. And I'm guessing that godukkies55 is probably related to him since he bumped this old ass thread, lol.
I've watched him several times, in person and on the tube (or online). You heard it here. The kid is really special. I don't want to sound hysterical, so I won't name players I would compare him to. (Not saying whether one of them rhymes with "schlebron.")
i agree with the miller comparison...he's nowhere near the stiff that Novak is
a 12 year old who is 6'8'' 200 pounds and could school you at basketball.

I think this is proof that Gordon Hayward made like five different accounts in order to create hype for himself.

What are Gordon "Half Man-Half Amazing" Hayward's draft prospects two or three years down the road?
This guy is a 6-8 swingman, who can pop the three, drive the lane, crash the boards, and play tight D.
I haven't been able to get an accurately gauge on his athleticism, as Butler has been on TV once this year (actually, yesterday against Davidson).
Hayward seems to do everything well, and has prototypical size to boot.
