IknoBall12ParticipantI really wanna know how the jazz fans and everyone in general feel about Gordon Hayward. Even when he was drafted i had doubts about this guy. i jus kinda thought it was a little early for him to be picked. hell i even thought luke babbitt was better honestly. Im a big fan of deron williams so i keep an eye on the jazz from time to time. i jus wonder is he really the answer to addressing their wing problems and lack of shooting. I watched him in summer league and he really didnt even look comfortable out there on the floor. Idk maybe hes a project player whos gonna take about 3 or 4 yrs to develop. i hope it happens sooner though.

Winning_TimeParticipantI feel like he may be like Jordan Hill. Hill had huge expectations and I think he would have done better if drafted lower. I love Gordon Hayward and he’s pretty versitile so I’m pulling for him a lot. Probably my favorite player coming into this draft.

JNixonParticipantHe’ll look below average next year, but by his 2nd or (more than likely) 3rd season he should emerge into a Francisco Garcia-type of player. I don;t expect more than 5 ppg and 2 or 3 rpg as a rookie though. He’s not really ready to play more than 15 mpg or so.

SwatLakeCityParticipantI don’t know, I wasn’t too happy when the Jazz picked him either. I thought they would go for Babbitt or Ed Davis. Guess I was worng. Anyway I hear management LOVES Hayward because of his versatility which is nice, but I have my doubts. He should get a lot of playing time since currently the Jazz only have 9 players signed for next year. They still need to sign Fez and/or a 3rd pg. Possibly Gaines, but I think they are looking for someone with more experience. They need to hurry up and decide though because the free agent list is getting very thin. Just sign Fez before someone signs him to an offer sheet. We don’t want another over payed back up. Anyway back to Hayward, since he should get a lot of playing time his rookie year he should be able to develop well. But I guess to wait until the season starts to see what he can do and then we can judge their draft pick. I hope he is not another Deshawn Stevenson or CJ Miles. Not that I don’t like CJ, its just that he took along time to develop. (This year could be his breakout year. I really think he has a shot at MIP or 6th man of the year or both)

Malik-UniversalParticipanti agree 101% with igg9, hes never gnna be an all star player, but he gnna develop into a good bench player, and a good assect on a winning team, could have the same type of career that kyle korver is having, less shooting, and possilby more longievity

NarcParticipantIn the Jazz system…which is somewhat similar to the Princeton offense…he’ll do well. Sloan is the master of setting up plays in the half court. Hayward is versatile enough to excel in that type of a situation. I can see him being a great 6th man off the bench and a serviceable starter. The thing that makes him better than Korver is that he handles the ball much better than him (not saying much). Combine that with the fact that he has NBA range and knows how to come across screens pretty well, he should have a great career.

IndianaBasketballParticipantJohn Wall. DeMarcus Cousins. Evan Turner. Greg Monroe. Other than those four players, I don’t think there are any other “for sure” players in this draft.
I think the 9th pick was too high for Hayward, but at the same time… He fits perfectly with the Jazz.
He’s going to be a good player… He needs to get stronger and more aggressive, so he’ll be limited this season, but I think he’ll make an impact sooner than people think.
