 My sources are telling me gelo is a lock to the lakers in the second round. My sources are also telling me this is all the doing of Rob Pelinka. Let’s not forget Pelinka was one hell of a shooter and was the main reason the lakers drafted Kuzma.

 Lets say they do or don’t draft him but he ends up the Lakers.

If the take him in the 2nd round this looks like a good will move towards Lonzo which in turn may get him to  take less come contract time or more Activly recruit when called upon.It also at least looks like you have guaranteed him a shot to crack the roster.

You pick him up for summer league only.. This may be seen as oh well we needed a body for the roster so less leverage to the Lakers as they could be seen as not giving him a legit "fair chance” to try make it.

However me personally I would only pick him in the 2nd round if there is no prospect that is majorly better than him…Because if you look at the footage of workouts for example Grayson allen vs Liangelo, True Allen got more points in the final drill but Liangello was more effcient than him so if you are given limited touches(which whoever goes 2nd round will be) you need to make them count which is where small details like that could work out in his favor.
