For some reason i think Kansas wins the conference once again and Baylor under performs once again

Another question, when is JT3 going to be put on the hot seat? Or will it never happen because of his dad?

providencefriars1ParticipantPitt has the most frontcourt depth of anyone in the BE (maybe Cuse has a little more) and Ashton Gibbs who is one of the best shooters in the country, Marquette has two studs in Crowder and DJO and Vander Blue who could emerge, and Cinnci has great returning depth.
Gtown has one proven player (Clark), and two players who are pretty good (Thompson and Lubick). Thats it. No PG or second wing scorer. They will struggle

Pac-12ParticipantJT3 has made the tournament every year hasn’t he?..he won’t be put on the hot seat because he doesn’t deserve to be. His teams actually end up overachieving.

Nah those teams don’t overachieve at all. Georgetown consistently underachieves actually. They have underachieved every year since Stephen Curry knocked them out a couple of years back. I don’t think Georgetown’s expectation is to simply make the tournament with their history and with the players they’ve had. JT3 needs to be on the hot seat, they probably won’t get to the Final 4 with him as coach anytime soon. The last 3 years have been marred with disappointment and underachievement. It’s not all that dissimilar to Wake Forest underachieving and firing Dino Gaudino, although JT3 is a better coach than that and he has the name thing going for him.

gatorheelsParticipantSt. Johns is going to be talented but very young. Just don’t think they will do too well in tough big East games especially on the road. How ready are all those Freshman for the Big East really?… I just like teams with a little more experience a little better like Marquette, WV, Cincy, etc…
J-Nixon… I just don’t see Kansas St. being very good at all. I’m not expecting Iowa St. to be anything special but they have a lot of talented transfers. I think they make a pretty big jump from last season. Overall they just have a little more talent than K St.
I’m higher on Georgetown this season than most. I really like Jason Clark, Hollis Thompson, & Lubick. I think all 3 of those players are underrated. Georgetown also added 3 talented recruits who are all over 6’8". Matter fact of 3 of those recruits are rated top 15 in the nation per their position.

None of the transfers they’re getting are all that valuable as a team. K-State loses talent, but the defense, size and Frank Martin on the sideline guarantees they’re better than Iowa State. Also, McGruder, Samuels, Spradling and Southwell all will be stronger and better phyiscally, on top of having experience in the conference. ISU losing Garrett means they lose a true PG, and they don’t have any other PG’s on their roster. Lucious and Allen are both SG’s. ISU has no meaningful experience on the roster and they don’t have the talent to really make up for it.

gatorheelsParticipantIowa State
6-3 PG Scott Christopherson SR
5-11 PG Korie Lucious (Michigan St.)
6-5 SG Chris Babb (Penn St.)
6-3 SG Chris Allen (Michigan St.)
6-6 SF Melvin Ejim SO
6-8 PF Royce White (Minnesota)
6-8 PF Anthony Booker (Southern Illinois)
Kansas State
6-3 PG Will Spradling SO
6-4 SG Rodney McGruder JR
6-6 SG Shane Southwell SO
6-1 SG Martavious Irving JR
6-7 SF Jamar Samuels SR
6-7 PF James Watson JR
7-0 C Jordan Roberts JR
Kansas State lost Jacob Pullen, Curtis Kelly, & Wally Judge. I just don’t much experience left on that roster. Sure a lot of there players are Juniors but only a couple of them played significant minutes. If anything Iowa State has more experience. The Cyclones are loaded with old players. When these two teams play each other the will likely split. Each team will win their game at home. Overall though to me it looks like Iowa State has the edge at every position except SF. I agree with you Iggy though about Coach Martin, he can coach.
In the Big East there isn’t a huge difference between the teams I ranked 4 through 11. We are talking these teams are going to be separated by a couple wins at the end of the season. The difference between Georgetown & Marquette is very slim. I just like Georgetown a little better. I’m not sold on Marquette being that solid overall without Jimmy Butler & Dwight Buycks.
I picked UCLA to win the PAC 12 because of the size they have. 6-8 Reeves Nelson was their leading scorer last season. Big man Josh Smith 6-10 is huge. Plus you get two 6-10 guys in the Wear twins who will be very solid. That is a ton of size. Add in a couple of solid recruits & the return of a couple SR guards and UCLA is bound to breakout. I feel it.

JNixonParticipantHow does Iowa State have an advantage at every spot except SF?? Jamar Samuels is better than everyone on Iowa State’s team and he’s a PF. Rodney McGruder and Christopherson is probably a push at SG, but McGruder if anything has the edge there. Just because Iowa State has a bunch of transfers doesn’t mean they are more experienced. None of them have played Big 12 games before, and that’s very significant. Kansas State’s Fr. also will be added into the rotation, and they have more capable bodies than Iowa State does. I’ll take K-State in both matchups against them, just because they have a bunch of old transfers doesn’t mean they are more experienced. There are guys on K-State’s team that have gone through the conference slate 2 and 3 times already, and on top of the talent and coaching they’ll get, it’s not something to be dismissed for guys who haven’t played in Big 12 games before.
