PHXSUNDREAMPICK13ParticipantWho are they going to sign before the 3 musketeers resign? Which free agents should they sign? What positions should they fill? So many questions?? People must be panicking in Miami…

TyroberParticipantI am surprised that Wade is getting a lot of hate for opting out. He could have kept his 40 million over 2 years and then sign a 2 year 20 after that or opt out and get a 4yr 15 million while helping your team retool. That last year of Wade might be rough but if that is the cost of keeping LeBron then you absolutely have to do it. I am very excited to see who else they can bring to Miami.

Ghost01ParticipantAgain, they could somehow sign Kyle Lowry, but that would take him accepting a lot less money.
Outside of that, signing other peripheral free agents isn’t going to fix Miami. Wade and Bosh have to play like 2nd and 3rd wheels, not glorified role players. A mediocre big on the wrong side of 30 (Gortat) doesn’t swing the NBA title for them… Not with Wade and Bosh fading.

Its best for the NBA and especially the balance of power in the East.
Wade to Chicago to team with Rose and Melo would be ideal way for him to play his last 3-4 yrs out.
LeBron to Cavs with all but 2 players under 24 and on rookie deals to build a dynasty.
Bosh to Lakers to replace Pau or Houston next to Howard.

JoeWolf1I think they’re pulling for Melo, honestly…I think they want him to take Wade’s place when he retires, but it’d all require them to take cuts.

SwatLakeCityParticipantI want them all to different teams too, and team up together again this season. But unfortunately, I think that both Bosh and Wade will stay with Miami along with Lebron. I have no doubt in my mind that this will happen

220ParticipantI’m glad to see the Heat’s big three remain committed to winning at least. I had been quite critical of the horribly aging Wade opting in and ending the Heat’s dominence, but its good to see he cares kore about winning still even after getting his three rings.

trelos6ParticipantLooks like Heat’s big 3 have all decided to take a paycut and see if they can retool the roster to get some extra talent. It takes a lot of unselfishness to do this. Wade could have easily been stubborn and said "show me the money".
I do hope the Big 3 stay in Miami (coming from a Celtics homer). It shows that winning a ‘ship is more important than getting paid a few extra dollars.

tblazer_NZParticipantIf Wade gets say a 4year 60mil contract that would be more money than if he opted in to two years 40mill because there is know way he would get 2 years 20mill in two years time.

doubledribblerParticipantAs far as opting out or staying in I have no complaints with what any of them decided. It was written in their contract so it is their choice. I will never tell another person go take less money because it makes me feel warm and fuzzy. If you want to be technical they all took less money the last time. People need to cut some of these guys a break, especially guys that you know are working hard. You don’t have to feel sorry for these millionaire players, but I hardly hear a peep when some of these owners are raking in money and they do whatever they can not to spend.
With that said, isn’t Cole the only guy under contract and he is under 2 million? If I remember correctly they should be able to literally reload their whole team with everyone opting out and they would still be able to go over the cap to sign Lebron, Wade and Bosh. Not saying that is going to happen, but pretty sure when they did the last set of contracts it was set up in a similiar way with Wade being the last to sign on.

Ahkasi ClayParticipantAm I thinking wrong?
Miami is now in a position to go out and get 1,2,3… big time free agents.
Maybe Carmelo, Deng, Lowery. (Whoever) will take less pay (say what the big 3 were getting g paid last year) to play together in Miami. Add a couple of mid layer players. You have a good team. Then you use the bird exemption to bring back Wade, bosh, Allen, LeBron, Birdman. Etc….
They are all allowed to sign back. Why can’t the get max sale rise after every one else is signed?
(300 mil pay roll!)
(I admit I am not sure if Allen has bird rights.
But if Anderson doesn’t have bird right, well that just sounds wrong)
