Lotto StudParticipantI really think he can sprout and will not be surprised if he has the better career out of all the prospects in this class.

Tim49461ParticipantI’d like to make an example here. The only thing that has kept MKG in the league is his defense. At absolute worse Gary Harris is MKG.
He is one of the better defenders in the country and earlier in the season clearly the best defender in the NCAA nearly getting a steal every play it seemed ( Don’t even bother to argue if you didnt watch every game). The kid is lock down.
Add that to a amazing offensive game and he already a lock to be top 10 in the class. If you need a guard that will come in and produce Gary Harris should be your #1 guard off the board. If you want potential then clearly you look for Wiggins etc.

butidonthavemoneyIf Utah doesn’t get a top five pick, I am 80% sure they’ll draft Gary Harris. He’d be a good fit for their system.
Question for anybody that feels like they can answer it: How do you think Harris compares to Smart, Exum, and (if you want to group him in here) Wiggins defensively? Is there any clear standout? Are any more equipped than the others to deal with the top scoring shooting guards in the NBA? How comfortable would you be having them defend the league’s top point guards or small forwards?

Tim49461ParticipantI really havent seen Exum play so I’ll leave him out. Smart and Wiggins tho I can compare Harris. Smart and Wiggins I feel are most about playing it safe and keeping the defender in front. Which both do very well at doing but the thing I believe that sets Harris apart is his ability to have quick hands. If it is lazy pass on the perimeter you know he will get the steal. If you watched the Uconn game. Harris was always guarding the player that got hot. unfortunately Uconn has Bazz and boatright and Harris can only guard one player. When boatright got hot he cooled off once harris was placed and vice versa.

For_Never_EverParticipantI think Gary Harris compares very well with Avery Bradley. Being a great on ball defender not as good as Avery, but he is the better shooter.

HomerKangParticipantI agree with most everyone here. I think Harris is a bit underrated by some publications. IMO, he shouldn’t be taken lower than 8th overall. To me, he’s the best pure SG in this draft.

BajeebzParticipantI don’t watch every Michigan State game, but I’ve seen them play quite a bit this year–and I’ve never understood the criticisms of his athletic ability. He looks really quick, with more than enough ability to score at the rim. If the Timberwolves decide to keep their core intact, then I hope and pray that Harris somehow falls to us in the draft. I’m not a huge Kevin Martin fan, and they really need a two way threat on the perimeter.

Chilbert arenasParticipantCrazy to think he might be the first Michigan State player to leave early for the draft since Shannon Brown in 2006. I don’t see star potential in him but a very solid career.

GlenTaylorSucksParticipantBetter on D, not quite as good of a shooter. I’d be happy if he fell to the Wolves at 13

MettaWorldDurant1ParticipantBest landing spot would be Denver he would instantly be their best defensive 2… I dont know how highly you rank Randy Foye on that end and he would also be another solid shooter who can get his own shot or spot up.

The Scare Crow RisesParticipanthe does remind me of Mayo, Beal and Mclemore physically, he could have a better pro career due to his defense. He would be the perfect fit for several teams looking for a SG in the 7-13 area. As a 76ers diehard I have to say he’d look great next to MCW and a Wiggins or Parker. Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s taken before Marcus Smart.

tidhoParticipantI could see pick 9 or 10 being his floor.
Cleveland is a pretty good fit, and with Kyrie and Waiters they’d have a really impressive three guard rotation. He (should) compliments those two well.
