WarblingSpamalopeParticipantIs anybody feeling them in the starting lineup? With both in the wolves can’t run and play 3 on 5 on offense. Rumors are the agents for Baz and Dieng are complaining their guys are losing minutes. I keep hoping to see bjelica and either Baz or Lavine to get some spacing and pace. Bjelica and towns play really well on offense together.

adumParticipantI feel nowadays having a "Veteran Presence " is serverly overlooked.
Yes KG and Prince limit the Wolves in some situations but they are champions which will help Wiggins and KAT’s development as they progress through this season and many more.
Yes they are playing better then expected and Yes the offense is looking a little limited with this starting lineup but I truly believe that it is only going to benefit the future by playing these guys.

JDB12ParticipantThe Wolves aren’t necessarily in the "win now" mind-set. And I think it’s important for the young guys to learn from the veterans who have both won NBA championships. Plus, neither Garnett or Prince are getting that many minutes. Both Dieng and Bjelica are getting more minutes than Garnett, and Muhammed is just under what Prince is getting. The problem with this Wolves team is they actually have a lot of depth, so players aren’t getting as many minutes as they feel they should be. As time goes on the Wolves will figure out who they want getting minutes for them as they develop, and as the older guys become more and more ineffective.

circumlocution75Participantbut you mentioned the agents complaining & I think these agents have way too much power in today’s game w/ the teams & w/ the media….

RUDEBOY_Participanteven though kg & prince are averaging career lows across the board.they’re vocal on defense, telling the youngsters where they should be.
and their experience & leadership is invaluable.towns & prince are the 9th best 2 man combo in the nba, based on net points per 100 possessions.

trelos6ParticipantVeterans are good in the locker room and in the training sessions. Once you are in the game, maybe give them 12 min in 4 min bursts to help steady the ship and be a calming influence, but that’s about it.
If I was a Minny fan, I’d much rather LaVine, Bazz, Wiggins, Dieng and Towns be getting minutes to develop.

phila9012ParticipantI think they should get rid of pekovic and Martin. If they took martin away, then shabazz and lavine would be able to get around 25 mins a game each, which is enough for them. Also it would hopefully allow lavine to play more SG since that is where his spot is. I would probably start him there and have shabazz as an energy sixthman. Shabazz can score and is probably best suited to that role. Also martin deserves to be playing on a contending team. He is worth a late first round pick from someone or 2 second rounders. There is no room for pekovic to play in the rotation whenever he comes back, I don’t know what you could get for him. They might just have to use whatever they get from a martin trade and trade that with pekovic.

ExumInfernoParticipantThey are putting Martin into the starting lineup, instead of Prince. Should mean more scoring options, and Prince can come into games off the bench as a defender. Garnett starts for the veteran play, and later when he is on the bench they can have Prince in for some minutes. That could be better balance, instead of having boht veterans starting.

TRC1991ParticipantSam Mitchell is NOT the right fit for this team. The guy has amassed a losing record in 5/6 seasons he’s coached in this league.

tuck243ParticipantI think Prince at the 3 helps defensively, but it doesn’t help offensively. KG isn’t hitting his shot either, so it’s hard especially when you have Ricky Rubio at PG.
I personally think they should trade Rubio around draft time and draft an actual PG that can shoot. Their pick is Top 12 protected and the way they’re playing I doubt they will slide out the top 12. If they can’t get someone in the draft then look to trade or sign someone in FA. Ricky kills floor spacing and if you have anyone else on the floor that can’t shoot then it’s hard to win games. His one on one defense is overrated too. Teams like to attack him every chance they get and it puts a lot of pressure on their bigs.
The way Zach Lavine is shooting this year they should look to start him at 2, but with him and Rubio victims defensively it isn’t worth the move. Kevin Martin would be the worst decision to start here (he sucks at passing and his defense is blah). Bazz isn’t a great 3pt shooter either. They’re almost stuck with this current line up until they figure out how they want to move forward. Whatever that decision is they should accept the growing pains that comes with it.

r377ParticipantHave a look at the Sixers record to see how you go with “developing the youngsters” with no vets around…..

220ParticipantTrue, but the Sixers have less than half of the young talent the Wolves have. It’s not a great comparison although history certainly agrees with the point you’re making.

WarblingSpamalopeParticipantI think there is some confusion. I’m not saying Garnett, Prince, and Andre Miller shouldn’t be there or never play. I do think they should be at 15 minutes or less. My big issue is that the rotation has Wiggins and Towns trying to go at defenses that have nothing better to do than lock into those two because they are the only threats on offense.

HitsterParticipantKG doesn’t play every night and when he does it’s limited minutes. So the T-Wolves almost have a line up with and without KG. Prince can still do a good job defensively and KG can guide KAT through games too.
The bench guys are getting good minutes around the vets so I don’t see it being an issue.
The T-Wolves fans love to see KG and so if he didn’t dress for home games they could get vocal and he is in the final stages of his career and has gone home.
KG must think he can still offer something as he has no need to play for the money and I doubt he’d wan t to embarrass himself on court given his pride.
Prince no doubt had a fair few offers probably from contenders but must have been persuaded by the T-Wolves he can really offer them something for him to go there.

Ahkasi ClayParticipantthe Passion and entusiasm that KG has on the bench must sometimes be frightning to some of the Pups, watched the game tonight, THE MAN was yelling at everybody, slapping heads, talking over the coach, you cant help but to get caught up in it
