delfamParticipantIt seems like with a lot of prospects that they need to gain some weight(Udoh) or guys like Anthony Randolph and Brandon Wright in the past. Does anyone have a case were guys actually have gained weight and have become successful?
I ask this because it seems like these guys who are thin never seem to gain weight and never reach their potential, this is just some reasons why I think GM’s should draft guys with more weight, as it doesn’t ever seem they can gain weight to reach their potential.

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantKevin Garnett. Was 220 at the draft I believe. And weighs over 250 now.
Chris Bosh. Was 225 at the combine. He plays at about 240 now. Didn’t become a monster by any means but successfully added good weight.

torontoraptors10ParticipantI was actually watching the 1995 Draft the other day on Raptors TV and KG was listed at 6’11 214 pounds. I don’t if anyone noticed, but before a team picked a player, Hubie Brown was asked who the team will pick and he was usually right.
Chris Bosh was 210 pounds I believe

bobbybParticipantIf you look at his combine results he only benched 185 like 3 times. Now he benches like 350

sc0rebuckets11ParticipantPeople forget T-Mac.
He gained weight when he left T-Dot, going into his Orlando days (which he was 21).
KG was successful in the NBA (Minnesota) and people were still saying he should gain weight. He was around 220ish in those days. He put on more weight when he went to the celts, since he played a less versatile role.
Also Joe Johnson put on weight. I think he was around 200-210 ish when he was drafted by the celts, now hes like 240.

lalailaParticipantanother thing why Derrick is comparable with Dwight is that both loves muscles i think…at McDonald’s game he was like 230 now he is already 245 and still 18 years old…i think he will get in 260’s pretty easily especially if he will grow a little too like same Dwight or A-Ran.
