    Winners

Miami Heat: got the big three on the same team. Pat Riley did a marvelous job to get this done. Now he needs to convince veterans to take the minimum deal to fill out the roster.

Joe Johnson: got the biggest deal in free agency by staying with the Hawks. His team won’t get past the 2nd round but at least they will still be competitive.

Boston Celtics: Manage to resign Paul Pierce and Ray Allen helps Boston stay competitive especially with Doc Rivers staying as the coach. Adding Jermaine O’Neal to basically replace Rasheed Wallace.

Darko Milicic and Amir Johnson: these guys got overpaid. 4 year 20 million dollar deal with the T-Wolves and Toronto 5 year 34 million dollar deal.

Kobe Bryant: his fanbase is growing thanks to Lebron.

Kevin Durant: he handled his contract extension quietly which is very respectable.

    Losers

Cleveland Cavaliers: Lost the 2 time MVP Lebron James to the Heat. The city is going to need to see a therapist. The city is going to be hurt emotionally and economically. I don’t see the Cavs can recover from this anytime soon. Cavs management is to be blamed for this mess though. Bringing aging players for Lebron to play with isn’t exactly going to help. Don’t be surprise when Dan Gilbert sells this team in a few years.

Lebron James: His image is hurt really badly from this mess. His jerseys are burning in Cleveland. People want to throw stuff at the billboard sign of Lebron. Cops have to protect his house. He could’ve handle this a lot better.

New York Knicks: yeah you guys got Amare but so what? For two years the plan was to bring Lebron to the big apple in 2010. Getting Amare won’t help much for next season. I did like the Anthony Randolph deal. Good thing is Eddy Curry contract comes off the books next season and Melo did say that he wants to play for the Knicks. 2011 is the year the Knicks hit a homerun.

New Jersey Nets: Travis Outlaw come on down! The 12 win team thought they would land a big time free agent and I thought so too. You hired Avery Johnson, got the 3rd overall pick Derrick Favors, and a new Russian billionaire. All that plus cap space and all you got was Outlaw?

i agree with all of that. Im curious knicks fans, was tanking multiple seasons, trading multiple picks and losing david lee worth Amare stoudemire and anthony randolph?

I think from a team standpoint the Nets were a huge loser. They were players in Lebron, Bosh and all the top free agents and all they’ve signed so far is Travis Outlaw. They’ve drafted well over the last couple years and although I’m not sure about the readiness of Derrick Favors, I think they got a great energy guy in Damien James, but instead of a top free agent added to their squad they’re just a little better than last year which at the most means about 33 wins.

I think the Bulls didn’t get what they wanted, but they made the best of the situation getting Boozer, getting rid of Hinrich to clear cap space was a gamble, but if they were to sign Felton or Farmar that would ease the burden. They are still under the cap and they could use another shooter and a backup center, but they’ve improved their team and for a reasonable salary.

I think unless they can work out some kind of trade, they are huge losers.

JJ was our best player TRUE, but is he worth 124 MIL? NO. Is he worth the deal Boozer got at 80, YES. or even at 100 MIL like Amare got? Maybe. But only if we can get past the second round.

I don’t see that happening with our current lineup. We are undersized, and we don’t run. Oh and we hired the Cheapest possible coach available!!!!

So what is changing except we don’t get to call ownership Cheap?

We get to call them dumb, over spenders?

Losing David Lee was inevitable him since him and Amare wouldn’t really work together.
Tanking not really but Walsh moved those contracts and won 32 games w/out a SG but what difference would it have made, Wade apparently weren’t coming here anyway.
Basically Walsh jumped the gun with the Rockets trade and he needs to hire a GM, KP is out there just saying.
I’m just thrilled the Knicks didn’t sign Joe Johnson to a max contract.
Anthony Randolph, Ronny Turiaf add some much needed depth to this team.
With Amare, Randolph and Gallo and Randolph they have some shot blockers and Azubuike is a decent player who can shoot the 3 ball at 41% for his career.
Now need to make smart decisions from now one, if Mello signs his extension that would really suck now.
Can’t help it that Bosh, Bron and Wade wanted to play together since the olympics.

Don’t give Miami the title just yet, who do they have to slow down Rondo and battle with Kendrick Perkins in the paint?
Bosh will be guarding KG most of the time, if they get Mike Miller as rumored this team will be sick at the wing positions.

    Knicks current roster
    PG Douglas/Rautins
    SG Chandler/Azubuike
    SF Gallo/Fields
    PF Randolph/Turiaf
    C Amare/Jordan/Curry

    Free Agent Losers
    1) New Jersey Nets 7 mill a year for Travis Outlaw he’s worth half that and Boozer, Amare, Wade, Bosh, JJ and others all passed on them. Losing out on John Wall really hurt this team shot at a top tier free agent. Now they’ll be overpaying for other guys.

    2) Atlanta Hawks a 120 million deal for Joe Johnson really at 35 he’ll be making crazy amt of money and he isn’t a #1 option now even. Now will they have enough money to keep Crawford and Horford probably not.

    3) L.A. Clippers they’ve signed no one and have a big hole at SF.

    4) Utah Jazz lost Carlos Boozer and got nothing in return, he couldn’t stop Gasol in a big spot but then again who could. Without his offense the Jazz will struggle.

    5) New York Knicks – missing out on Lebron hurts, they do have cap room to land Mello next year but if he signs an extension they will out of options for a top scoring perimeter player. They do have some cap room this year still maybe can add a SG and move Chandler for a PG. Walsh seems to be a decent GM when it comes to trades as long as draft picks aren’t involved.

    6) Sacramento Kings – So far haven’t landed anyone, the team has a bright future with Cousins and Evans though.

I do not think the Kings were really looking to add anyone, and I would much rather see them hold onto cap space than pull a Kahn and sign terrible contracts for the received talent. Think about it, the Kings have a very solid young core of players, and next year will have 25+ million in cap space, and almost the same roster as this year. I like how things are shaping up.

btw Clippers just signed Randy Foye and Ryan Gomes. They’ll likely sign one more player too when all is said.

    Cleveland had the biggest lost.

Knicks are in good shape especially if they can get Melo next year.

After watching his friend take less money to win it, Melo could do the same to play for New York and get the love Lebron never will, play for a very good team with Amare and Gallo who should average close to 20 this coming season and some other young guys, and make his future wife happy.

Anthony Randolph could average 20 and 10 for the Knicks. People forget before he got hurt he put up 15 and 7 with like 1 or so blocks per game. Gallo is putting up numbers similiar to Dirk and this coming year should jump to 20 points per game

Amare should be in the 25 to 30 point range

if the can get Melo the following season(not this coming one) that is a 30 point scorer right there.

Bill Walker is looking like the guy that was seen as a lottery pick after losing weight and knee feeling better. Walker played well last year

Toney Douglas is young and talented but unknown like Rondo was but their games are totally different but I am just saying in his second year with more minutes we don’t know what he can do consistently

Wilson Chandler is a very versatile player

Andy Rautins is a very good 3 point shooter. Think JJ Redick

Knicks would be wise to save their money and when the CBA has contracts going down they could possibly grab Melo and another max contract talent. They have enough talent this year to win 40 to 45 games which is good enough for playoffs in the East

NY Post reporting that Walsh might retire becaz of losing out on Lebron and health reasons.
It could happen this week and Kevin Pritchard could be on his way.
Not sure why these older guys put their health before work, he put off surgery for a while and I heard he couldn’t walk up gym stairs.

Good pt about the Knicks they still have a decent shot at Mello and cap room.
The front line is long and finally got some shot blockers on the team.
