IndianaBasketballParticipantJust thought I’d start a thread for free-agency signings, trades, etc.
Based on reports, CJ Watson is signing with the Pacers.
I was hoping the Pacers could get better point guard than Watson, but he’s an upgrade over DJ Augustine.

Wavy BagelsParticipantJosh Smith is meeting with the Pistons. That’s a head scratcher for me. Makes me wonder what they have planned for Greg Monroe, whose a RFA this year.

Wavy BagelsParticipantI doubt Smith signs, but if he does that would suck. I can’t imagine him and DRUMMOND on the same floor together. It would be solid defensively, but both players are not heavily known for offensive prowess. At least Monroe provides a better offensive ability that meshes with DRUMMOND’s presence in the paint. As a fan of frontcourt talent, I don’t like the idea.

Professor RozayParticipantAccording to sources, the Warriors are willing to offer Andrew Bogut and Klay Thompson or Harrison Barnes. The Warriors can also add in the expiring contracts of Richard Jefferson or Andris Biedrins to sweeten the deal with more cap relief for the Lakers. Golden State, which can only sign Howard via sign-and-trade, believes that is the best offer Los Angeles will receive. Contra Costa Time
0- Posted on: Mon, 07/01/2013 - 2:49pm #810925
BasterdInABasketParticipantHoward to Golden State would be a perfect scenario for both parties, Warriors would be legit title contenders and Howard would have plenty of space to operate down low. My only question is why they would want to give up or Thompson or Barnes, All Miami had to give up for James in 2010 was a boatload of picks.
0- Posted on: Tue, 07/02/2013 - 2:14pm #811610
llperezThe difference is Miami had gutted their roster and had plenty of cap room to sign lebron. The warriors have no cap room and must work a sign and trade of equal money out for them to get Dwight. The lakers have said they won’t entertain any sign and trades that they don’t find very appealing and would rather let Dwight walk for free rather then take on bad contracts. So if the warriors want Dwight and Dwight decides to go there, the lakers are gonna want something nice in return which is exactly what klay/ barnes would be. That’s why I hope if Dwight does leave, he chooses the warriors. Atl, dal, and Houston can pretty much just sign him and he’s out with lakers getting nothing.

Raef LaFrentzParticipantI’ve heard Flip is content with letting him walk because he isn’t the shooter that he wants. I suspect his plan would be to then re-sign Budinger and then go after a SG in free agency. Wolves have already been linked to Mayo and Martin (who is an Adelman favorite along with Budinger).
Personally, I want Kirilenko back. And then perhaps sign Richard Simmons as a trainer so the whole teams doesn’t end up in the ICU again like last season. Kidding. Kind of…

LipstickParticipantKirilenko did so many things that weren’t noticeable on the stat sheet, including showing off his Kermit voice to the media. He also isn’t the defender he used to be, but I worry about their defense without him.

Raef LaFrentzParticipantSame. He still knows how to play great D, and that definitely rubs off on his teammates. He’s not a “lockdown” guy anymore, but some nights he’s pretty dang close. I hope they can work out a deal to bring him back for 3 more years or something along those lines.

festar35ParticipantLove the Watson pick-up and would love to have a shooter of Copelands ability as well. Not sure I am happy with the QO to Hansbrough though, but it is only an offer.
I still hope we can find that 6th man scorer off the bench. I hope Stephenson puts in work on his jumper and becomes that guy that gives you 10 points and can make plays consistently.

Andray Blatche will agree to one-year, $1.4 million deal with the Nets.
Blatche probably would have made a bit more somewhere else and might have gotten his hands on some sort of deal on a second year, but staying in Brooklyn has its benefits. He will get some much needed playoff exposure and learn behind the relentless Kevin Garnett, and with a second relatively good year in a row he could command a much better deal next offseason.0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/01/2013 - 5:00pm #810997
