Former No. 1 recruit's season in jeopardy at Florida

Entering Week 3, Florida is a banged-up lot. The Gators will be without star linebacker Jelani Jenkins, who suffered a broken thumb and had surgery on Monday, and starting cornerback Cody Riggs, who suffered a small fracture in his foot but will not have surgery, for Saturday's 6 p.m. game against Tennessee. ... Will Muschamp said Ronald Powell, still trying to come back from a knee injury suffered in the spring, has developed some swelling during rehab and is being re-evaluated.

Muschamp said Powell, ranked the nation's No. 1 recruit out of high school in 2010, will likely redshirt instead of trying to return this fall. "It certainly has put a speed bump in the recovery progress," Muschamp said. "We're disappointed for him and us."
