This is my first mock of the first round only (even if it shows a second round, I don’t scout that much guys), and I feel like I bring up a couple ideas that really haven’t been discussed before. Firstly,

I have Lamb going to SacTown. I’ve yet to see anyone have this pick, but to me it makes the most sense. Thorton isn’t starting on a playoff team anytime soon, and I don’t see Tyreke playing SG for them long term, if he’s even on the team for that long (His name was in trade talks all year). Insert Jeremy Lamb. IMO the best SG in the draft, and the best compliment to Cousins because he can move without the ball and hit a shot, something the Kings had trouble with last year. Sactown has to decide what they want to do with their wings moving forward. Jimmer, Thomas, Reke, and Thorton just does not work.

Second, I have Thomas Robinson falling to the Warriors at 7, assuming they hold onto the pick. Really, what amazes you guys about this guy? Better yet, what is the difference between him and Taj Gibson (I’ll take the negs, don’t care)? The first six teams all have good Pf (Davis, Aldridge, Biyombo, and Vesely and TT who were drafted last year), and Robinson would fit perfectly with the Warriors, giving them much needed depth and energy.

For my last stand out pick I have Tony Wroten going to the hornets at 10. I feel like he will pull a Russle Westbrook in the draft, and the Hornets could really make out like bandits if they can turn this 6’4 monster into a PG in the mold of Westbrook. I also like the pick because in a worst case senerio it gives the Hornets another option if Gordan leaves in free agency.

When I did this mock I studied the teams rosters, and tried to make picks based off of the best players who would fit in the direction a team was going. I’m not sure they are the best picks, but I feel like all three of those senerios pose some interesting topics to be discussed.

aight mcgreener, ima tell you what i think but you gotta do the same with my mock draft.

i seriously doubt drummond falls to portland. there is no way all those teams skip on all that potential, but i would like for that to happen. i don’t see how the kings skip on a potential drummond & cousins frontline.

terrence jones to houston; they don’t need more PFs. they need a 5 and a 1. they’ll go with leonard and lillard in that situation.

i personally don’t see ross going that far.

    moe harkless is too low

dion waiters wont slip that far, definitely not past the bulls and imo even miami. i don’t like green to miami, i rather get length in ezeli or outside shooting in jenkins.

washington with beal and jenkins?. i don’t think so

i don’t see darius miller going that far

Well I think it’s safe to say that the only two teams before Portland that will gamble on Drummond are Washington and Sactown. The Wizards just traded for NeNe to get rid of a project big, so I doubt they draft another. Plus with a team full of non perimeter threats I feel they will go small this pick. That only leaves Sac, and as I explained above I think Lamb will be the best pick for them. Thus Robinson and Drummond falling.

I stand by my houston picks mainly because I don’t think they are going to keep them both. Scola is old, and Myers might be the best pick for them here but Jones provides them a nice scorer off the bench in the mold of Thad Young. They are like the Nuggets right now, all role players buy no star.

You’re probably right about the latter end of my mock, as I haven’t seen many of these guys play more then a handfull of games, so my assesments might be a little off. I still feel like my first 25 or so picks are spot on

I can see Cleveland gambling on Drummond. They have 4, 24, 33, 34 picks. They need a quality center, SG, and some decent wings. You simply can’t get a quality C late in the draft, and Drummond could be something special. Also, it is much easier and efficient to grab SG and wings late in the draft because there are many of those which are good, late.

Dion Waiters at 30? I’m not as high on him as Chad Ford but i difenitely think he will go top 20.
