I don’t know if anybody realized this with all the NBA stuff going on, but Festus Ezeli came back on Wednesday off the bench against Davidson and went for 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks in 21 minutes. Eli Holman came back yesterday for Detroit and went for 21 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 blocks in 19 minuets. Good to see these guys back and playing. Big pick up for each team considering both teams have been struggling without their respective big man in the middle.

Good Looking out…I’ve been impressed with how much both of these guys have improved since they entered college..

I said last year that Ezeli will be the 1st Vanderbilt player selected in the draft ahead of Jenkins 7 Taylor and my friend J Nix said i was crazy…He’s going to be a solid backup and quality part time starter in the league..I love his back to the basket game..But other parts of his offensive game needs more polish…

Holman reminds me of a young Tony Battie..He could slip into the late 1st round with solid workouts….

This makes Detroit a serious mid-major contender.  Butler can kiss their tournament hopes goodbye, at this point.

Cleveland State and Milwaukee have been doing pretty well in the Horizon League thus far as surprise teams, but I still like Detroit to come out on top

I don’t think that Ezeli will be taken third out of the three. I say he goes first or second behind Jenkins. It’s hard to pass up on that deadly shooting stroke.

meh…Detroit had all the same talent last year and they were pretty mediocre…they can beat anyone, but they haven’t learned how to play like a team, so they can lose to just about anyone too

I have a hard time calling either of the 2 teams that tied Butler in the conference standings surprises (both lost very good players, but both also had good, proven college players sitting the year out in James Haarsma and D’Aundrey Brown)
