Fear The Deer...ScareCrow's Bucks Summer Trade Scenario...Please Comment...

Don't minus without giving a reason...

Trade 1: Draft Day...
Bucks Trade 2011 first rounder(unprotected) and Cash to Memphis for 12th pick in 2010 draft...The Grizzles could use the extra money to resign Gay and have more picks in the 20's to add more youth...The Bucks get two picks in the lottery and can Draft the Duo of Henry and Babbit to play the 2 and 3 for the Bucks next year...

Trade 2: July 1st Sign and Trade...
Bucks Sign and trade John Salmons...and L.Ridnour and D.Gadzuric to New York Knicks For D.Lee( Who is also Signed and traded)...The Contracts will work out as Ridnour/Gadz and Salmons will make what Lee will want...13 to 16 million...he gets the years and a good place with Bogut at Center and a young core of Jennings/Henry/Babbit and Luc Ricard( Defensive stopper) they still have some shooters and can get a Mike Miller for the MLE....

The Break Down:

If they Trade Their 1st rounder next year for the Grizzles 12th Overall...Saving the Grizzles a Million Bucks or so...And replacing the pick in next years draft...They can go and Get Xavier"X Man" Henry and "Nuke" Babbit...Jennings, Henry and Babbit helping Bogut would be great.... and working out a S and T with Salmons,Ridnour and Gads for D. Lee (Who Need a Pg/C and Glue guy like Salmons and can't really pay Lee if they wanna get LBJ and Bosh or Amare etc...) Gads and Luke Ridnour are expiring deals...Salmons signed for a nice 6 to 7 million to be your Starting 2 or 3 allowing the Knicks To trade Wilson for good draft pick...most likely a big man...All the Curry/Ridnour/Gadzuric expiring money will land Carmelo Anthony IMO...the Knicks fill out roster in the meantime and Go Hard for LBJ and Stat/Bosh and JJ...All they really give up is D.Lee...but for Salmons and 12 million more in expiring contracts(with 2 guys that fill a need for 1 year) Chandler could get them a first rounder Too...That can be the PG or C pick they want so badly...Maybe Chandler for one of Minny or Memphis picks...

...ALSO

they could then sign raef lafrenz and stick bogut on the bench, so they could be the only team with a starting line-up of lefties.

but on the real, i think the grizzlies would be willing to trade a pick, but i don't think it would be the 12th pick. and if the trade did go down, i don't think they could get both babbitt and henry. they could probably get one of the two and paul george or james anderson which would be a nice consolation.

the second trade would never go down. new york is going for broke this offseason. they aren't going to settle for salmons, ridnour and gadzuric. and on top of that, all 3 are going to be in their 30's. it just wouldn't make sense for the knicks.

good thoughts though.

good thinking, but

if i were the bucks GM and i wanted to make a draft day trade it would be switching picks with Memphis (12 & 15) to get Xavier Henry, I think the 2011 draft will be much deeper and with the promise that Ersan Ilyasova showed in the later parts of the season and first round they will be ok at the 3 spot and should keep their 2011 pick

I like the moves for the bucks. as usual, pretty long series of dominoes here.

(all of this is predicated on me believing that Lebon is not going to NY) I think what it comes down to is if the Knicks go thru with the trade. I think they should because I don't believe they will land the free agent talent they are hoping for (LBJ + others)...If they got salmons, one of the top free agent big men (stat/boozer/bosh), and then added another 7-10 mil guy I think it would be the best scenario for them. especially as you say with money coming off the books and Melo being an option the next year.

So to me the question is whether they realize they are not going to win the summer of Lebron and when. If they make the move in time, this could be wonderful for them.

good trade for the bucks

This would be great for the bucks but not so good for the knicks. especially not for the immediate future. but it would let them be players for melo and CP3. however I think the bucks like salmons and won't trade him.

I think the world knows the Knicks are Dreaming of LBJ/Wade and

Bosh...They also want Godzilla to play the Center position and Want J.Wall for a bag of balls...To be honest most big time free agents minus LBJ maybe don't see the Knicks as a destination...They will lose out Lee for Nothing as well...The Lee Bosh sign and trade doesnt work for Lee...He'll turn down playing in Toronto...where he'll have to play center alongside a soft Bargs...He does not want to play center...The Bucks can give the Knicks 2 starters...And Gads and Luke are expiring deals that can land Melo...Salmons does nothing but get every team he's traded too into the playoffs...That'd be a good start to the summer...To have a actual team going forward...they can still get Amare or JJ if the LBJ thing does not work...Lee may not even let the Knicks work a sign a trade unless its the right place and dollar amount...

Unless he gets an offer he

Unless he gets an offer he can't refuse - Hammond probably will stay put during the draft and draft the BPA. He might play w/ his two 2nd rounders, though.

I also doubt he'd trade Ersan - too much potential and a team friendly contract. He told the Pacers no when they offered Murphy for Ersan at the trade deadline.

However, a sign & trade for Lee would be very cool - Ersan, Gadz, & the 15th pick for Lee. Ersan would probably shine in NYs system and the Bucks would get a true PF, which they greatly covet - and they could trade their two second rounders to get into the late first round and get an athletic SF like Robinson, James, or Poindexter..... makes sense to me : )

Question

Lee will re-sign with the Knicks if NY doesn't land any Marquee FA's, and in this situation you have NYK missing out on the big names. Lee is better and younger than Salmons not to mention a fan favorite. Why would they do this?!They're trying to upgrade FA not downgrade. Keep trying. Minus.

I don't see either trade happening

Memphis will probably trade one of the later picks, not #12.

If NY wants they can sign Ridnour and Salmons (assuming he opts out) using their cap space without taking on Gadzuric. They can get more for a Lee S&T than the Bucks are offering in this trade, which is players they could sign outright.

A S&T for Lee including the #15 pick is not happening. Lee can only be S&T after July 1st. The draft is June 24th. Sure the Bucks could send the draft rights to the player the Bucks picked with the #15 pick, but NY would have to want the player eventhough there were no prior discussions over who to select between the two teams.
