Favors to SAS
We all know there's been reports of San Antonio wanting to move up to nab Favors and with the word out that New York may make a run at TP, I thought it may be possible by doing this (note, salaries and the like haven't been taken into consideration, it's just in theory):
NY S&T David Lee to San Antonio for Tony Parker
SA sends Lee to New Jersey for #3 (Favors)
New Jersey fills an immediate need at the 4; NY and SAS both get their man.
SAS's #20 would be included in either deal, preferably to New Jersey so they could nab someone like James, Pondexter, Ebanks or Sanders.
Why would NJ give up a high pick for a high salary when Lee is a FA?
Your point's valid.
It was more of a scenario in getting SAS the #3 pick, that's all.
SA is wanting uo move up and grab Favors? I didn't know that. interesting if true...
Reported a while back:
The Spurs interviewed Georgia Tech power forward Derrick Favors at the NBA Combine in Chicago this week.
Favors, who is projected to go third in next month's draft by most analysts, told the Associated Press that he believes San Antonio is trying to trade up to take him.
The Spurs have the 20th overall pick.
RealGM Note: Executive Editor Chris Reina has Favors going third to New Jersey in his latest mock draft.
thx for the link
Can't get Lee in a sign n trade till after July 1st since he's not eligible for an extension.
Spurs will not get Favors unless they trade Tim Duncan who still has a decent stock with some teams even though he is old. There are too many quality point guards out there and NJ and Philly has point guards that are young and talented.
