According to espn New Jersey has now decided to take Derrick Favors over Wesley Johnson…I wish they would make up their damn mind.

Why would you trade CDR if you didn’t plan on taking Wesley Johnson? When Favors worked out with the Wolves, David Kahn called Favors “out of shape”, so that relationship is strained, and DeMarcus Cousins wouldn’t even work out with the Timberwoves. Should be interesting to see how it works out, but if I were to guess, I believe at the end of the day Wes Johnson will be a Net & Favors will be a Timberwolf.

CDR is not a part of thier plans. They have 2 1st rounders. They can easily replace him. They already did last season when they took Terrance Williams.

I believe Derrick Favors will be the pick. He’s the better player and a Need.

If they do take Wes, they could maybe get Favors & something else from the Wolves most likely, but I don’t know if the wolves would bite on that.

I’ve seen Wes Johnson play every Cuse game. He is good at everything, master of nothing. He will be a very solid player in the NBA. He’s not Danny Granger, He’s Trevor Ariza like. He will have numbers similar to Ariza this past season.

Derrick Favors is the better player and it’s not even close. Think about this: He averaged 14-8-2 with another solid post player next to him and no point guard? Imagine if he had someone like McCamery from Illinois giving him the ball? He would have had close to 20 points a game. He reminds me of a Amare Stoudemire type.

    actually he averaged 12 points.

also ian Schumpert is better than Syracuses point guards, hes better than Larry Drew, he averaged a solid four assists (for college its solid) i think people are using that as an excuse, Lawal was just the better player last year.

Iman Shumpert is a more of a combo guard. He’s not a point guard IMO. There were times where he only looked to attack the basket.

Also, SU doesn’t need a good PG. They had good everything else last season. They usually need a scoring PG.

Lawal was not better then Favors last season, what were you watching last season?

Lawal was better than Favors until maybe the last 5 games of the season.

Wesley Johnson is better than Favors to me too. I think he has a jump shot that makes him stand out, as well as the ability to score in transition and off the ball cuts. He also was a prolific rebounder for a combo forward who played in a zone D (it’s very hard to consistently rebound well in a zone, especially for a wing). He has a number of things going for him.

Favors is more like Chris Wilcox than Amare. I do feel that if Favors goes to Minnesota is teamed with a great playmaking PG like Ricky Rubio (if he shocks the world and plays for Minnesota) then Favors can be a 15-17 ppg scorer because he would look great in the pick and roll. He doesn’t have that kind of playmaker in Minnesota or New Jersey currently though (Devin Harris isn’t a pick and roll player really and Jonny Flynn isn’t a PG that can elevate a big man’s stats because he’s not a pure playmaker). Favors can’t really create his own shots effectively at all, and his mid-range game isn’t that polished either. I have a hard time seeing him as Amare Stoudemire because he won’t have a Steve Nash level playmaker beside him to create shots for him.

Wes had good rebounding number out the zone because he was the 4 man at times for Syracuse. He played alot of 4 because of SU’s big man foul trouble.

I stand by it, Wes will be good in the NBA. I just feel if your looking for a above-average player, your looking at the wrong guy.
