Fave 6

Hi there. Here goes:

C) Dwight Howard

PF) Kevin Love

SF) LeBron James

PG) Derrick Rose

SG) Kobe Bryant

6th) James Harden

Honorable mention to Ricky Rubio. Very exciting to watch play. My ultimate 6th man is Dwyane Wade, but Harden for actual 6th men.

By the way, here's my alltime team:

C) Wilt Chamberlain

PF) Tim Duncan

SF) LeBron James

PG) Magic Johnson

SG) Michael Jordan

6th) Manu Ginobili

I thought of Ricky Pierce as the 6th, too. Honorable mentions to Larry Bird, Doctor J, Shaq, KG, Kobe, Bill Russell and Oscar " Big O " Robertson.

Giving Negs for Favorite

Giving Negs for Favorite players, really?

PG- Jeremy Lin- It's well documented that I was a fan even before Linsanity, I had him on a list like this almost a year ago.

SG- Manu Ginobili- Many think he's boring, but I love watching him in break, and his craftiness in the way he gets to the rim and around the rim, he still isn't playing at his All-Star level, but when he gets back there, SAS is a top 4 team in the league.

SF- Luol Deng- Goes hard on every play, plays great D, does all of the little things that help a team win, he can shoot the three, drive, and create his own shot. Thought he'd be even mroe special after he acveraged 18 at age 21, but still a solid All-Star

PF- Kevin Garnett- Many people may think of him as more of a dick, but I love the intensity he brings. I know there is a line to things, but there is no "buddy-buddy" AAU sort of mentality with KG. Goes hard on every play and really inspires you.

C- DeMarcus Cousins- I've been a fan since he was drafted, he's so strong and talented, and doesn't even have a low post back to the basket game yet, right now he's a faceup big that overpowers you, imagine if he develops a Bynum-like post game with the fancy footwork, he'd be unspotable, and the talent outweighs the red flags and problems if you ask me.

Honorable Mention- Kendrick Perkins- Love this guy's heart, the way he plays on the court, the hustle and hte passion, you gotta love it. He is a good locker room guy and a great defender and does the dirty work, and protects his teamates, and let's you know that the paint is his territory, right D-Wade?

Mine's

PG - Ricky Ruuuuuuuubio: sad sad season ending injury derailed what had to be one of the most exciting rookie seasons in NBA history.

SG - Paul George: The guy can do it all. It's downright scary to think of what this can could become down the road a few years.

SF - Kevin Durant: The Durantula. 'Nuff said.

PF - Kevin Garnett: He's been my favorite players since I was five years old and the Wolves drafted him the the 5th pick in '95. No way The Big Ticket gets left off my list.

C - DeMarcus Cousins: Beast. Immature. Skilled. Headaches. Dominant. Inconsistant. He's all of those things and then some.. But I can't help but love the way he plays the game. (2nd place goes to Darko, The Dark One.)

6th Man - OJ Mayo: Silky smooth player. Maybe was overhyped, but I still think he's got a lot of untapped potential.

7th Man - Billy "Sky" Walker: OJ's high school buddy and teammate. Dude can fly and stroke from three.

NIL(not in league) - Adam Morrison: Some day, mark my words, The Stache' will walk back into an NBA arena and make a lot of people say, "Hm. I guess he isn't so bad after all." Book it.

It's cool to see everyone's list. A lot of diversity out there, which is really interesting!

How could I forget Durant, I really liked his stroke in College, even though I would've picked Oden over him at the time, I still knew he'd be a damn good player

  • Pg - Charles Jenkins (47 pick? He sucked out of the gate, but he's getting better everyday and its fun/inspiring, no ego)
  • Sg - Harden (unselfish yet dominant/I love the 3pt antics)
  • Sf - Durant (filthy, unreal, no ego)
  • Pf - David Lee (works extremely hard everyday, no ego, goes h2h w/ any PF)
  • C- Bynum (He is so good he's having fun, which I haven't seen in a C since Shaq, people view him as immature but growing up under PJ you'd know/realize its sarcasm)
  • 6th - Monta (Electric)

Coache - McHale (HOU) they run good sets on O and work hard on D, and are thriving despite major injuries

Only prove my point that the negative system is almost pointless... Other than hate for a poster it was no reason to do that... SMH

PG- Derrick Rose and CP3 (Love them equally)

SG- Kobe Bryant

SF- Carmelo Anthony

PF- Dirk and Chris Bosh (Love them equally)

C- Bynum (Im sorry I want my Center that is a &$#%#&@!... In fact I like Noah as well)

6th Man- James Harden, OJ, and JT Money... (I hate Manu and love them equally)

PG: Tyreke Evans - His

PG: Tyreke Evans - His athleticism and ball skills have him a jumpshot away from being a absolute star...

SG: Jordan Crawford - One of my all time favorite basketball players... Shoots way too much but fun player to watch..

SF: Andre Iguodala - The true do-it-all player..

PF: Kevin Love - I'm from Minnesota, and we love our Love... His combination of range/athleticism/quickness/savvy is truly awesome..

C: Nikola Pekovic - The Pek man is truly a uncoordinated hulk among the coordinated and finely tuned athletes that are NBA players... (worth mentioning I hated him at the begining of this year)

6th: Ben Gordon - A scorer that just goes about his business.

Honorable mentions: Ricky Rubio(next year he is on this list for sure), Alando Tucker(all time favorite college player), Jon Leuer, Ersan Ilyasova, Brandon Jennings, Monta Ellis...

This was extremely difficult and definitely left some off of here..

^Thanks Tuck, looking back,

^Thanks Tuck, looking back, it was a really tough pick. I really liked Oden, but for some reason there was a hint of doubt in my mind. It wasn't that he didn't have the talent or skill, or even that I thought he would get hurt, but it was just the way he would run up and down the court, he looked sluggish and slow on his feet. He was athletic, but he didn't seem very quick on his feet, but I was still 90% sure he was going to be a top 10 player in the league. Before he got hurt, many people still would've labeled him a bust, but 11 and 8 in 23 mintues for a guy in only his second season not being the first or seond option isn't that bad. He was just starting to come along, and I really liked his low post game. The way I imagined he would develop is sort of the way Bynum is playing right now, strong big with a very nice low post game, but unfortunatly injuries took away from that.

I reallly liked Durant as well, I figured he'd be an elite scorer, didn't think he'd become as good as an all-around player as he's become, I didn't think that he would be able to rebound with his skinny frame, and remember he was the only guy not able to get one rep of 185 at the combine, but now he's leading his team in boards with 8.2, although that can be atributed to his height and long arms more than just getting after it. His handles have improved imensly, never looked at him as a guy that could run an offense, and although last night's game proved he's not there yet, he is steadily improving, and the organization has done a great job at developing all of their players. Harden has improved so much since he came into the league, and they have used Westbrook even better and more to his strength this season and moved him off-the ball on quite a bit of their possesions, although that is in part to Harden's emergence, and Durant's improvement athat they've been able to do so.

Hindsight is 20/20, everybody knew that Durant would be able to put up 25 a game, but we also thought that Oden would be able to put up 23 and 11(which I am certain he would have been able to do had he been healthy) and many people were saying this at the time, there will be several wing scorers before there is another dominant bigs. Now that doesn't mean that 6'11 wing palyers with silky smooth jumpers, handles like a guard, and elite athleticism grow on trees(they don't, Durant is one of a kind) but think about it, when Shaq was drafted, Hakeem, Robinson, and Ewing were already in the league, I know I'm forgeting someone, but since Shaq was drafted the only dominant centers I can think of are Yao and Dwight. Duncan could qualify, but you get my point that there really is a lack of dominant big men that can impose their will at any given time(And I quite frankly don't believe Dwight is on the level of those other offensively, or even close, but he is a great defender, but that just goes to show that if we value Dwight so much, that how brilliant must a guy like Hakeem have been who protected the rim and was your go-to option). But in the last 15 years, you have Kobe, T-Mac, AI, Lebron, and Wade, as your franchise wings(I know I'm definatly missing someone here) and those are only wing guys(Yes MikeyV, I accept that AI was NOT a point, lol). Looking at it, my arguement wasn't very convincing, but my point is that if you see a big with the potential to be great, you take them.

So as much we loved both Durant and Oden at the time, I am sure that there is a very small fration of the population that would have actually picked Durant over Oden if they were on the clock. And to quote Indiana Basketball, "If god promised me Oden would stay healthy, I'd take Oden again."

Bro I couldn't have said it any better... Outside of Jordan no team have won a NBA title without an elite big man... I have said this for years... Phil Jackson said if he could pick any player to coach right now it would be Dwight Howard... This is with LeBron and Durant in the league... That let you know how important a big man is...

I also agree with Indiana if Greg Oden was injury free I'll pick him again... G.O. actually dominated his competition the only thing I don't see from Andre Dummond... I don't know how great he will be... Truth be told...
