With the season about to start and I’m guessing most people on here play some sort of fantasy format, I’m interested to know which player (s) people continue to draft thinking they will finally "break out" but keep letting them down.

For me it’s Dion Waiters, I was big on him as a rookie and have always drafted him way higher than he needed to go.

I feel like Aaron Gordon could turn into one of those players that joins this category

Biggest bust for me and the only player I really regret picking last year was Emmanuel Mudiay.

His shooting percentages were slightly up(which isn’t saying much because they’re terrible), but pretty much everything else was down across the board. It was so bad he lost his starting spot to old man Jameer Nelson. I know sometimes there’s a sophomore slump and all, but he was very unimpressive all year long and highly inconsistent.

With that being said, if you are in a deep league of course he’s not a bad pick near the end of the draft, but I was feeling optimistic and picked him either the 3rd or 4th round fully expecting him to improve or even break out.

Not to say he’s doomed, he’s only 20 and can still break out, but he definitely burned that bridge with me and I will be avoiding him this year unless he falls into my lap with the very last pick.

Look for Jeremy Lamb to tear it up this season guys. Steve Clifford was already high on him during training camp and now tha Batum is gone, this guy is finally gonna live up to his pre-draft hype. Book it. On the other hand, I think RHJ will kind of let owners down again, as he might have trouble staying on the floor wth his lack of shooting.

I agree. This would be the guy Ive always expected to break out. This year hes added some weight and really look focused. With Monk and Bacon both ready and able its now or never for Lamb.
