Lotto StudParticipantI’m sure that 99.9% of everyone of us are tuned in to ESPN right now, but what are your thoughts on the special as we watch?

Lotto StudParticipantMy memory of the Fab 5 is my big cuzzo, who I appreciate now for always talking about Jalen Rose. It was Jalen Rose this Jalen Rose that, if it weren’t for him I would have never knew about Jalen Rose or the Fab 5. My cuzzo is an arteest & had portraits covering his wall of nothing, but Jalen. Me on the other hand did not watch Michigan basketball until the Jamal Crawford era, that was my "Jalen Rose" LOL.

The lake show2For those who didn’t know, christian Laettner was a straight BEAST. i hated him along with the other Duke players but he was the truth. Gave it to every big man he faced in college including Shaq

llperezi wasnt watching college ball back then so my memories are vague. I do remember seeing them in sportsillustrated and seeing people even in california wearing michigan jerseys. The webber timeout was a big story at the time. This show is an interesting watch.

llperezwatching this makes me miss the days when so many guys returned to college for 3-4 years even if they were lotto picks they came back. Im seeing leattner, hill, jimmy jackson and they were college stars for longer then what we see now.

Lotto StudParticipantYou can credit all that to the hype of players such as LeBron James from National t.v. exposure in HS & the AAU circuit.

Lotto StudParticipantI swear I love Jalen’s outspoken personality. He is the best.

The lake show2Yeah college basketball was much better back then. Just about every team in a major conference and some in low major’s had NBA talents

Lotto StudParticipantJackson said the goal was to win it all & everyone to declare for the draft afterwards. I don’t recall seeing but 1 highlight of him doing something in a Michigan uniform.

grohe3ParticipantDoes anyone know where I can buy one of the fab five jerseys?
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/13/2011 - 5:09pm #509757
The lake show2Ray was a glue guy but had some talent. Prob a late second round pick because teams didnt see many of his weaknesses yet

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantI’m more of fan of Webber and his insecurity, it makes him likable, if you can get past the fact he abused Tyra Banks back in the day, but that was likely a sign of his insecurity and faults as a man…

4th dimensionUmmm… Have you ever heard of a guy name Michael Jordan?
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/13/2011 - 9:22pm #509786
JNixonParticipantI wasn’t talking about him being the best player in the history of the NBA sir. I meant his charismatic personality and how he went about his business playing back then.

Meditated StatesParticipantI had Michigan hat, coat everything. Jalen Rose was the best all around player back then to me in college ball. Really started to play ball all the time during the fab 5 years.

JoeWolf1I was too young to realize their influence on basketball, but even at 10 years old in the middle of Kansas, where I grew up, I knew of the Fab 5. I was way more into Michael Jordan and the Bulls and KU, than Michigan, but I remember watching them in the Final 4 and liking Chris Webber’s style of play even as a young kid. The espn doc was great, it was 2 hours long and it felt like about 45 minutes.

SubZeroParticipantBill Walton really pissed me off with what he said. I kinda lost some respect for Chris Webber honestly, but I’ve always been a big fan of Jalen Rose. Too bad I wasn’t alive back then

fai714ParticipantI missed it last night, is there gonna be an encore soon???

Lotto StudParticipant"For me personally shorts was always an issue. The first day we got uniforms, I did exactly what I tried to do in High School, get the biggest pair of shorts. I picked out a nice big pair, but the problem was they were for Chip Armer, they had #43 in them. So when Chip showed up that day, I asked him. And God bless him he was cool with it"-Jalen Rose
That is so hilarious, because I can picture Jalen trying to con him out of those shorts. That’s the same type of stuff I was on back in HS, when it came to jersey #s so I can relate.
