After making my rookie projections http://www.nbadraft.net/forum/rookie-projections-what-do-u-think. i noticed not only igoudala and turner play the same position and have similar body types but my projection of turner is almost identical to the stats iggy had at turners age 12pts, 6rebs, 3ast vs my projected 13pts, 5rebs, 4ast for turner. So Turner makes the perfect substitute for iggy a "younger iggy" if you may but the question is why is iggy still in the sixers? One iggy is good 2 sounds a little bit redundant doesnt it?

They don’t play the same way.  They do put up similar stats but in different ways.  Both of them are good rebounders now doubt.  Iggy gets his rebounds on sheer athleticism.  Turner has an incredible nose for the ball and seems to always be in the right spot at the right time.  I think Turner may be  the better rebounder in a few seasons.  He’s more consistant.

Also Turner has better court vision then Iggy.  Iggy gets a lot of assists in transition and by being unselfish.  Turner gets most of his assists by breaking the defense down.  Turner is the better pure playmaker with the ball in his hands.

And when it comes to offense Iggy is a pure slasher.  He can hit the outside shot but is very inconsistent.

Turner’s outside shot is inconsistent too but is only a rookie and I expect him to become a better shooter as his career moves on Iggy has been in the league 6 years and is still shaky shooting from the outside.

Turner on offense works the elbows and the midrange areas working for pullups or to set up assists to a cutter.  Iggy will either drive and make a circus lay up or dunk or just settle for a 20 foot shot.

And when it’s all said and done Iggy’s natural position because of his size and strength and gameplay is Small Forward.

Turner’s natural position because of his playmaking ability with the ball in his hands is a guard.

There two will be fine playing together the only thing I have against Iggy on the team is that is keeps Thad Young from starting at small forward.  Although Thad does play better at PF he isn’t long enough to go against the bigger PF’s in the league.

man great comment and it shows you have great basketball knowledge i agree on what u said i based my comment merely in stats but your explanation was great. I still think iggy is undersized 4 the sf position though, he is shorter and lighter than turner 6"6 feet vs 6"7 feet, 207 vs 210 lbs. And thad is a great emerging player would be a waste 4 him to come from the bench with all his potential.
