bdoody42ParticipantI find it funny that the 2nd night Iggy is out, Turner sets his season high in points. He was also clutch down there stretch including some free throws, a 3 pointer as shot lock expired, and a jumper.
Is this the Turner we would see without Iggy?

Mr. 19134ParticipantI was watching the Suns broadcast and after Turner hit his last jumper for his 23rd points of the night the dude was like I think Iguadola should pack his bags…haha…Turner played well the last time Iggy was out and if Nocioni didn;t have an amazing game Turner would of probably had more rebounds i think he still have 5 tho he is such a good rebounder.
The thing I didn’t get is that Turner had like 12 points on 5-6 shooting going into halftime and he didn’t get back on the floor til like 3 minutes left in the 3rd. Turner finished the game with 23 points goin 9-12 from the field most of them jumpers and was magical with the ball in his hands making of ton of crafty advanced ball handling moves. He did all that in only 29 minutes. Had he played more minutes like he should of closer to 38 minutes he would of probably had 30 points and 10 rebounds. He was huge down the stretch tho he only missed 2 shots in the 2nd half. Scoring a majority of his points in the 4th quarter.

Mr. 19134ParticipantIf Turner can start hitting his outside shot consistently Iggy don’t have to be moved because they could be dangerous together but either way Iggy stunts Turner’s development because Turner looks like he can become a dominant rebounding guard and Iggy has the ball in his hands too much for Turner to develop his playmaking skills but Thad Young and Turner play so well together and compliment each other nicely because Young can cut or hit the outside jumper.
I’m gonna make a list of the best sophomore not and in the future do you guys got any suggestions. Griffin I consider a rookie not a sophomore…Curry and Evans top my list thus far.

I May Be WrongParticipantI’m ready for a new era in Philly and no doubt, trading Iggy for the best possible scenario is the next move for the young team. But I’m glad Turner had this performance tonite. People were giving up on him and I think we gotta wait at least 3 seasons to see what kind of player he’ll be. I hope this performace helps him gain his confidence and bumps him into a starting role soon and convinces the Sixers to make a move(s) ASAP.

Mr. 19134ParticipantI think Rod Thorn needs to know what needs to happen. And all Turner really needs is confidence so he can start hitting his outside shot. He hasn’t really been playing bad he has just been playing tentative. It looks like he is finally ready to start asserting himself.
I really like the idea of trading Iggy for Kamen. With the Clippers playing well lately without Kamen and the emergency of Jordan as a reliable starter and a natural compliment to Blake Griffin it’s time for Kamen to get moved too. Jordan got 12 points and 6 blocks thus far and counting and is playing great post defense. Iggy would be a perfect fit for the Clips and Kamen as well for the Sixers and Hawes can play PF and learn from Kamen and Brand.
Davis
Gordon
Iguadola
Griffin
Jordan
And
Holiday
Turner
Young
Brand
Kamen
Makes both teams instantly look better on paper as both piece fit each teams scheme better.

Mr. 19134ParticipantYou can have Iggy and Battie for Bynum and a second pick obviously the team he been doing better without him.

BKKnicksfanParticipantThe Suns play no defense NOR do they have a guy on the wings who’s a above average defender. I wasn’t surprised Turner had a great game.
I feel Iguodala’s value is a bit overrated IMO, Why add Kaman when Hawes has played better for I believe a 8th of the price? I think Philly should move him for cap space and a future 1st rounder.

Mr. 19134Participantknicksboy thats because you didn’t watch the game. And Gotat and Lopez aren’t bad post defenders plus Grant Hill and Pietrus aren’t bad defenders. But either way Turner got most of his points off of butter smooth jump shots. He shot 9-12 from the field. 1-1 from 3. And 4-4 from the line. And he made a bunch of huge shots down the stretch where he didn’t even hesitate to shoot and the ball didn’t even touch the rims. He finally looks comfortable and like he belongs and thats the main thing i pulled from it. He would of got them points off of most teams because they were just great moves and it was a great shooting display. Plus he looked so comfortable in traffic weaving in and out with the ball in his hands.

BKKnicksfanParticipant"And Gotat and Lopez aren’t bad post defenders plus Grant Hill and Pietrus aren’t bad defenders"
I did not know Lopez and Gortat were wing defenders. I never said either were bad defenders. I said none of them you would would consider above average. He looked good but I wasn’t surprised when I found out Iggy was out. The Suns aren’t a good defensive team at all. I wasn’t shocked Turner had a good game. He’s still struggling when the ball isn’t in his hands and he’s not a great defensive player right now. Because he had one good game, I’m not hyping him up. What else can I say?

bdoody42ParticipantI consider Hill and Pietrus good defenders. Hill can guard multiple positions on the floor. othe rnight I saw him guard Griffin for some time and did a good job. Pietrus was a key defender in the Magics system. He usually guarded the other teams best SG or SF.

iguapops420ParticipantNot sure I’d give Bynum straight up for Iggy just yet. Maybe if things weren’t to work out for LA. Maybe a three team working Odom and Shannon with some picks. Could possibly get Minny or Mem to get involved.

DNYCEThe Knicks need to just give up on the Melo dream and go after Iggy(it makes more sense). Melo is on his way to the champs.

Sonny RedParticipantI was working, so by the time I got home the game was late in the fourth quater. I give Turner props for having a great game, but it doesn’t mean he hasn’t been terrible this year so far. I hope he can build off this game and start playing like he supposed to. The game before that against Golden State he looked the 12th man on the bench, he couldn’t blow past anyone, got his shot blocked multiple times when he got to the rim, couldn’t dribble in traffic, and the jumper looked anemic.

kobyzParticipantat start of the season i did thougt that Turner and Iggy could play well together after seeing Iggy playing great of the ball and shot great the corner three at the world championship. i knew that for this combo to work Turner should be the main man with the ball and Iggy playing off of him, first of all because Turner is just superb with the ball(and much better than Iggy) – making plays for him and others, drawing fouls and play effective overall.
too bad coach Collins didn’t try it but i still think it could work and be fantastic combo, only with the right terms, cause they also could be amazing at defense!
