Eurobasket first semi final France-Spain

Today 3 pm eastern on NBA TV! Winner goes to Rio. It will be the7th consecutive year those teams will face each other,6th out of the last 7 where they face in an elimination game:
2009:France-Spain 66-86 in the quarter finals
2010:France 72-66 in group play
2011:Spain 96-69 France in group play,Spain 98-85 in the Final.
2012:Spain 66-59 in the quarter finals of the olypmpics
2013:France 75-73 Spain in overtime,semi finals.
2014: Spain 88-64 in group play, Spain 52-65 France
Spain leads 5-3 in all those games,not even mentionning some preparation games. Most of these games involved a scuffle or two,some flagrant fouls,some "gentle" words. Pau Gasol said at the end of game huddle against Greece "We came here to beat them". France eliminated Spain on their home soil last year.

Forgot to mention also,there are two other games today:Greece-Latvia(10 am eastern) and Czech-Republic-Italy(12.30 pm). Winners qualify for the olympic qualifying tournament(aka potential Canada opponent next year).

Greece 97-90 Latvia. Greece off to the olympic qualifying tournament. Latvia will play against the loser of Czech Republic-Italy to secure the last qualifying spot there.

Are you kidding me? 40 pointss,11 rebounds by Pau Gasol and Spain goes to the olympics,France to the qualifying tournament. Parker is washed up,I say that in a sad voice. I’m french so the disapointment is real. France lost this game more than Spain won it though.

  amazing game..one of the most intense i’ve seen in the last years..i’m from spain so right now i’m so fired up but france has such a great team…it’s true you’ve dominated most part of the game but it’s also true that we had the game and batum had that triple to go to overtime..
