TripBzParticipantHas anyone else been able to catch any games? Spain is dominating! I thought Lithuania would’ve came out stronger, Toronto’s top pick is a beast though he plays with heart and he’s got skills. I would’nt have been mad if the Sota picked him. The Rubio doubters need to back off Spain is a stacked team, he’s been playing good D and setting up his teamates well their just missing shots.

RafterParticipantI have to say Enes Kanter has looked good, considering he hasn’t played that much, his body looked solid as a rock.
His averages: 12.3ppg 5.0rpg 1.0bpg 1.3fpg 20.5mpg 65.4FG% 83.3FT %
I would’ve thought he’d be a more aggressive on the glass, just by looking at him, but he has the potential to be a solid rebounder due to the physique and strength he possesses. The rest of his stats are very solid, 12.3ppg in 20.5mpg is good. His percentages are great, his field goal percentage is excellent and his 83.3FT% is steller for a bigman, he went 5/5 at the stripe against Great Britain, and was near perfect 9 for 10 versus Poland.
Istanbull looks NBA ready. He has a good blend of offensive ability. The word to describe Kanter is just solid. There are things to improve upon but he has impressive upside. Nice pick by the Jazz.

mikeyvthedonParticipantThat Turkey, with a loss to Spain and a Poland win over Great Britain, would not qualify for the Olympics (at least I believe this would be the case). I have not been able to catch any of it thus far, just been following talk and box scores. Still, Turkey is in a BAD situation after losing to Poland today. Group A seems to be totally stacked, but it would be a major downer for Turkey not to make the Olympics after finishing runner-up in the 2010 World Championship.
EuroBasket has two qualifying spots for the Olympics, and four spots into a later qualifying tourney before the Olympics. So, whatever teams make the Finals make the Olympics. I would expect the 4 qualifier spots to go to the teams in the Bronze Medal game and the next two highest finishing teams in 2nd round pool play. As there are only 3 teams per group that move on to the 2nd round, Turkey pretty much HAS to beat Spain to hope to make it. Since Poland would more than likely hold the tie break, they probably need them to lose to GB as well. Big day for Turkey tomorrow, it will be really interesting to see how Kanter does against Spain’s big men.
