ESPN Report: Jason Kidd on the verge of being named the head coach of Brooklyn
Breaking news into ESPN, as reports are that the Brooklyn Nets are on the verge of naming Jason Kidd their new head coach. As it was reported before, the Nets have a 3-year deal in line for Kidd. Whenever this hire goes through, it will come just a few short weeks after Jason Kidd retired from playing in the NBA.
Brian Shaw interviewed earlier today, but Brooklyn was overly impressed by Jason Kidd's vision for the team now and for the future. Shaw seems like a front-runner for the Los Angeles Clippers head coaching vacancy.
I hope our franchise does not put too much expectation on him as a first-time coach. It appears we are destined to be in the playoffs year in & out with the core of Williams, Johnson, Wallace and Lopez. If we fall short of that by any chance the morale will suck.
It's surprising that a team so focused on winning now would hire any player right after they retired as head coach. I really like Jason Kidd so I hope it turns out that they were geniuses.
That's kind of where I was going with it. For the last past couple of years D-Will has been talking about getting better and getting over the hump of not being in the playoffs contending for a title. Although Kidd may be very knowledgeable it seems as if it might be a step back for us. I'm all for it but I hope this signing doesn't bite us in the ass.
J Kidd as HC of Nets would be awesome to see a new wave of player coaches.
Ewing hired as assistant for Bobcats couple days ago. Just a fun fact...they really have nothing to lose.
Nice. Maybe he can teach Brook Lopez how to rebound.
Jason Kidd in his prime was a better rebounder than Lopez is now.
Is it just me, or is the head coach free agency more exciting than the player free agency this year?
