PulseGlazerParticipantAccording to this – http://blogs.mercurynews.com/kawakami/2012/02/20/why-dont-the-warriors-play-ekpe-udoh-more-theyre-still-addicted-to-offensive-stats-not-success/ – (not by me or anyone I know), Udoh has been the Warriors best defender and most important player. I don’t watch many Warrior games, but the analysis seems sound… thoughts?

RotelaParticipantI still dont get why Biedrins starts over Udoh, dude averages like 2 points a game….GSW need to have more faith in Udoh and let the kid grow….

DipoTimeParticipantI think the reason he doesn’t play is because he isn’t a true center. He can’t bang down low with the bigger centers because he isn’t big enough or strong enough.. and then when they want to go small he isn’t quick enough or have enough offensive talent. They’ve invested so much money into Lee and Biedrins so I think they get played more partly because of that. I mean Lee deserves playing time but why not spell him more for Udoh? Or just trade Biedrins and let Udoh start?

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantThe Warriors are going to have to decide whether to pick up the $4.5 million option for 2013-14 after this season. That is why one-sided players should not be lottery picks. Udoh might have a career as a backup with some defensive value, but it is not as a starter and not at lottery slotted money. It puts the player in a position to fail and the coach in a position where he cannot win.

aamir543ParticipantA Warrior fan here, didn’t read the article, but Udoh, the most important player? No. But I would much rather have him playing over Beidrins, but that still doesn’t mean I think he’s a huge part of our future.

JoeWolf1There’s hope for him, he blocks 1.7 shots in under 20 mpg and he isn’t just a shot blocker who gambles and gets burnt all the time. From watching him in college, I know he has an okay shot and is a good passer for a big, I just don’t think he has what it takes to be more than a 5th option in the NBA.
That being said, if he got Serge Ibaka minutes, he’d probably put up similar numbers.

RotelaParticipantDont know what you guys are on about, but Udoh started yesterday against the Clippers and he had 19points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks in a Warriors win. I saw dude in College and he can ball, people just need to give him a chance, let the kid shine. He is also still young and he has time to add on some muscle.
