Explosive move and he looks seriously ripped, the weight loss and increase in muscle mass could make him a more athletic guy this season.

The thing i noticed the most watching the game is his confidence. He looks like he belongs there now rather than just a bench warmer who is hesitant to really contribute. He played really well, seems a lot stronger.

    Beast.

However, smh at Aldrich… Haven’t seen a center move his feet that slow since Rik Smits. What happened to him?

Aldrich seems lost out there. Everything he does is kind of mechanical, nothing looks natural, as if he’s just doing what he’s taught but not applying it the right situation. He could shed a bit of weight cause he can’t keep pace with guys at this stage.

Aldrich can’t play at all. The only reason why he is still on a roster is because of his size and the fact he was drafted 11th overall. Chad Ford said in 2009 that Aldrich looks nothing more than a league average center, I think saying Aldrich is average is a bit too high. I was really hoping he would step into a bigger role this year but his preseason and summer league play had been atrocious

Agreeing with Seamo, he looks like he’s having a blast out there and his teammates look just as happy when he makes a good play. Attitudes are contagious!

Aldrich was a freak of nature in high school and put it together in college. Actually thought his strength would translate but wow is he slow. If he can’t crack minutes in the lineup this season (Thabeet could play more than him!!!) then he is seriously hopeless.

Kanter is a tank, could be one of the strongest players in the league. Looks like one of those massive Olympic Greco-Roman wrestling dudes

Am I the only one who has been quite impressed by Aldrich? He’s rebounded very well, his defense on Al Jefferson was actually very good, he gets a couple great block shots per game and his offensive game is much better than that of Perkins – it isn’t diverse but that hook shot is effective and quick.

He runs and finishes in transition and is athletic, he seems to be fouling less now. How is his preseason play atrocious? He’s averaging 10.5 ppg, 10.5 rpg and 3 bpg and 2 spg, 55% from the field.

Thabeet has been awful, absolutely, he’s fouled out twice and it seems he falls all the time on offense, it’s a weird thing, but I honestly saw him fall like 6 times in two games often at pretty random times, that guy’s coordination is scary bad

No you aren’t the only guy impressed by Aldrich. He still seems to me to have plenty potential to be a starting center in the league. He will get PT this year.

He’s not looking good.  He’s still showing poor instincts all around. Whether he’s playing alongside Al Jefferson or Kanter, Favors just looks like the 2nd big on the floor.  He doesn’t know how to play off of those guys.  It doens’t help that neither of those other bigs are good, willing passers, but Favors still has to try to find other ways to be more productive.  I think he should just focus on being a defensive presence and being the ulitmate garbageman on offense.  I always thought of him as a future defensive specialist a la Emeka Okafor, but this kid doesn’t show good enough awareness on that end of the floor.

Kanter looks great though.  He’s still kind of a bull in a china shop but he’s got such a nose for the ball, his moves are quicker and he didn’t lose any of his strength.  He has really nice touch when he takes his time and his FT stroke looks really good which bodes well for his mid-range game.  Kid looks like a future All-Star.

Favours would have to look for the ball and try to create his own openings but plays would be drawn up for him and as Siggy said he’ll get garbage points or lay ups. Obviously Millsap and Jefferson would be an offensive option ahead of either Favours or Kanter when they are on court but there should still be scoring options for the later two and they have a main worth on defence.

I’m with Anton, you can’t judge a guy by a 7 second clip of him getting dunked on.  Any guy blocking 3 shots per game is going to get dunked on now and again.

He’s been patient and learned a lot playing for a top notch NBA team.  Summer League isn’t his format with the run and gun offense and him being required to be a 1st or 2nd option, but let him roam the lane, rebound and get easy buckets and he can be a real force.

10.5 ppg 10.5 rpg 3 bpg 2 spg on 56% is the best he’s played since coming into the league.  He’s getting better and I think he can be a starter with a little more NBA in game experience.
