Did anyone else find it weird that Enes Canter didn’t workout during the "Kentucky Combine".  I am not sure what to make of this.  Either he didn’t because he has to go pro no matter what because of an ncaa ruling or was he worried what people might see during his workouts.  he has stayed near the top of all the mock drafts all year without playing.  Does anyone know if he was allowed to practice with kentucky but just not play?

It caught me off guard too, but one thought is that after so much inactivity this season, he just didn’t feel he was ready. So rather than risk chances of his stock dropping because of a poor performance he decided to wait until workouts to really show what he can do. Also his knee might have been giving him problems so he opted to rest it instead of risk further injury. Those are the only two reasons I can think of, but hopefully this does not effect his play in workouts and comes out blowing scouts away.

Kanter can certainly attend the workout, he just decided not to.

I think he and his agent decided to not participate in the Kentucky workout.

To me, it’s a red flag.  Does he have something to hide?  Maybe he knows that given his lack of speed, atheletism, he’s not exactly a workout wonder type of prospect?

If he keeps refusing to workout for teams, I can see him drop outside of top 5.

If he really wants to impress scouts, then he need to play in a 5-on-5 environment to show off his skills.  He only looks good in a team playing situation.  A layup lane workout wouldn’t do him any good.

Anyway, apparently, the Kentucky workout didn’t really reveal much, some said it’s basically showing a layup lane for the prospects.  The only thing that teams could get out of were interviews with players in person.  There’s nothing basketball related things that are revealed in the workout.

I mean anybody can practice with the team….they have a practice squad and Harrellson once said he got so much better by going up against Kanter at practice…..he probably is out of game shape right now and didnt want his stock to drop as you’d rather have nothing to be judged off than poor performances

He would certainly have risked his status  as a top 5 pick if he had a bad workout in front of how ever many teams attended.  So either he is out of shape or wants to minimize who sees him workout.   I agree with  Nashyming its a red flag.

He probably already knows where he will land and he just skipped out.

Valanciunas will take his spot as the number 1 big man in this draft if he doesnt prove himself in workouts. i wonder if he got lazy or cocky and stopped working on hs game. That would be a shame.

I see him as a risk worth taking. I dont care what the situation is, if I was was drafting at 3 and Irving and williams are gone you HAVE to take him. The center position is so weak right now, young Shaq would drop 40 a game, im telling you. With that beign said, I hpe he falls to the warriors, but I doubt that happening. I think Sacramento should take him. Cousins is a PF, and dalembaret is not the long term solution. Cousins and Kanter would beast inside for years to come
