don042488ParticipantIf Wiggins and Parker is off the boards before the Philadelphia 76’ers pick at 3, Sam Hinkie might go with Julius Randle instead of Joel Embiid, because the Sixers projects Nerlens Noel as a center. Although they already have Thaddeus Young at the 4 spot, they can always trade him…If such an event happens the Kansas big man may drop much like Noel did in last year’s draft, all the way to 6th, to the Celtics…Reasons being, The Magic who picks 4th and Jazz who picks 5th have greater needs then a center…The Magic has Vucevic already as their center and the Jazz have Kanter and Favors…The Celtics are in desperate need for a center, they even promised Jared Sullinger they would acquire a legit center this Summer, so he can return to playing his natural position at power forward next season. Embiid would be a big get for the Celtics at 6, that would shake up the draft tremendously…Cavs: Andrew Wiggins Bucks: Jabari Parker Sixers: Julius Randle Magic: Dante Exum, Marcus Smart, or Zach LaVine Jazz: Marcus Smart, Dante Exum, Doug McDermott, or James Young Celtics: Joel Embiid

Ebown5ParticipantI don’t think Embiid gets past 3 unless his spine looks like a slinky.
I am a big Randle fan, but I see him as 5th in this draft at best, and perhaps Vonleh has passed him at this point.

ballislife33ParticipantRead an article man, it looks like Embiid is gonna go 1, if not he definitly wont slip out of the top 3. Taking Randle over Embiid is laughable regardless if they have Noel. Picking that high with a team that bad you take best player available.

3 No Biases 3ParticipantIts arguable that Randle could be better than Embiid so its not laughable. I like Embiid but acting like he is head and shoulders above Randle it stupid talk. Randle is a safer pick and I think he will have a much more productive career than Embiid. Having said that, Embiid will most likely get picked ahead of Randle.

Calling Out The ClownsParticipantYour Julius Randle/Kentucky slurp job continues. "Safer pick and much more productive career" you’re hilarious. I’m going to ram it down your throat when Randle isn’t even close to Embiid, and you’ll just hide under a rock and not respond. Just like every other time I’ve called you out for being the most biased and biggest homer on this site. STFU about Kentucky and their players already. I see through you.

SwatLakeCityParticipantHe won’t fall to six. Magic do have Vucevic at Center, but he could easily slide over to the 4 making room for Embiid at the 5. The Jazz have Favors and Kanter, but Kanter is not very good on defense. That frontcourt tandem allows too many points inside. Other Jazz fans know what I’m talking about. When Favors and Kanter are on the floor together, the Jazz allow a ton of points inside and the opposing teams big men have a field day basically. The Jazz can address this issue by drafting Embiid. Sliding Favors to the 4 spot, and then this allows the Jazz to look at trading options for Kanter. If the Celtics want Embiid that badly, which I agree they do, then they need to trade up to the possibly the 3rd pick and draft him that way.
And lets get one thing straight Lavine, Smart, McDermott, and Young are not top 6 candidates. I’ll give you a pass on Smart but not the other 3.
The only thing that I think could cause him to fall to 6 is medical issues, which could very well happen. But as of right now, that back is looking like it will hold up. So once again will need to trade up inorder to get him.

BlueLacesParticipantApparently Embiid has gained 15 pounds of muscle since his season ended and says his back is 100%. If his back checks out, I think he becomes the clear cut favorite to go number 1.

tuck243ParticipantEmbiid if Parker or Wiggins goes #1… I don’t see him slipping out of the top 2 personally… Hinkie thinks he’s out smarting everyone so I could possibly see him looking to pass on Embiid if he does slip to 3… Highly unlikely though..

Z-LegendParticipantHe doesn’t think he’s out-smarting everyone. He’s just being a very cautious GM and playing it smart, like everyone else.

strobox88ParticipantNo way he falls that far. With the potential he’s got (exceeding Noel), which is the highest in the draft, you draft him now and worry about the other positions later in the draft. And if you’re the 76ers, you get two lottery picks anyway, so drafting Embiid #3 is a no-brainer if he’s still on the board.

Clean187ParticipantI think Hinkie would just take him if he’s healthy, but if not, Hinkie trades the pick to a team hungry for him.
No way he just passes on Embiid to take Randle at #3.

JoeWolf1Bill Simmons caught one of his recent workouts and was absolutely raving about him. From all I’ve heard, he’s healthy and looking really good right now.

kmp07sParticipantTeams in the top 3 don’t…atleast they shouldn’t…worry about fit that much. If you are that bad, you need talent. If both of those guys develop into great Centers then you can swing one for a great player later. All of those teams should be taking the best player on their board. That pretty much goes for anyone in the top 7-10.
