I really believe Ed Davis landed in the best possible position for him in the lottery from 7-14. He gets to be on a team with a complete absence in its front court that likes to run, has no real rebounder, and no real paint scorer. That is if Bosh leaves and if he doesnt than he gets to mentor the player he said is his favourite player in the league fellow ACC player Chris Bosh.

I see Davis having a Taj Gibson type of season but much better do to his better skill, and talent level.I also think al;though not by much he is a bit stronger than Gibson and obviously is the better prospect.

I project a worse to best (depending on multiple variables) of.

    WORST
    45%FG, 60%FT, 6PPG, 5RPG, 0.2APG, 0.4SPG, 0.7BPG

    BEST
    55%FG, 75%FT, 15PPG, 10RPG, 1.5APG, 1SPG, 1.8BPG

    EXPECTING
    52%FG, 68%FT, 12PPG, 8RPG, 1APG, 0.7SPG, 1.5BPG

Which would put him in ROY Consideration if others dont play amazing.

Bosh and Davis have very similar play styles, so I doubt they would play well together.

I disagree, as a Raptors fan, I dont think he was the right choice. Im not a big fan of the guy who wins the championship as a backup, then cant even make the tourney as their best player the next year. If they were to take a PF, I think Patterson is the right choice.

But hey, maybe I’m wrong and Davis lives up to his potential. Maybe Im wrong, hopefully I am.

I dont see Davis averaging more than 8 ppg and 6 rpg as a rookie.

If they chose Patterson, he would be a way better fit with Bosh coming off the bench than Davis would be.

I think Turner will snag it just on the fact that he’s going to get points, rebounds, and assists. I wouldn’t be surprised if Davis took it, but the style of play that Toronto runs scares me. If he doesn’t play D, and with all the shooters he might not be a big impact rookie.

He is very raw offensively. I doubt he averages double figures in points per game as a rookie.

Davis might have a shot at first team all rookie, but more likely second team because Patterson and Monroe will both have bigger impacts. Davis is better then Udoh though. It was a good pick but they really only had a choice between Patterson and Davis and I would of chose Davis just because he’s big enough to play center and i think Bargnani is a power forward because he don’t rebound or block shots. Or score from anywhere near the basket.

Zeroooooo, Bosh won’t be back so they need a replacement for him.

You would be saying hes the biggest bust of the draft if the Raptors hadn’t drafted him.

No, he will not be ROY, he is not that type of impact player that could contribute right away, he is still riding his potential hence getting drafted in the lottery, could be a solid starter down the road though just cannot see him challenging Turner, Wall, Cousins for ROY
